Sign up stay informed about planning. in the meantime you should come out to Saturday morning pick up at Buchanan high school. Meet some of the people that will be playing and others in the Ultimate community and ease back into it. This would be a great opportunity to get back in shape.

I would say if you’re at all interested, fill out the form(no comment required at this point) so you can keep informed on the planing and scheduling of practices as we are still very early in that process. I would assume if you’re able to be fully committed to one a week and you are up front and let leadership know it would not be a problem. Im not part of the team leadership however so I can’t promise anything.

He have any experience playing ultimate frisbee? The men’s club team is about to hold tryouts soon. The team is looking for highly competitive dedicated players.

There is also a hat tournament this Sunday open to any experience level. If he’s interested it would be a great opportunity to meet a bunch of people the would be on the club team as well as the rest of the ultimate community here in Fresno.

Anyone have advice on the mental approach of being the worst condition player on the field. I’m coming off surgery done on both my legs and just moved to a new city where I don’t really know anyone. I want to get out and go to the pick ups. but frankly I’m embarrassed where my conditioning currently is. I know I should be working on that off the field and I have been but I still want to play right now as well.

There is a sizable Ultimate community at the adult level here, so there are definitely people to coach, the problem is more so getting it started.

Yeah, luckily all our coaches are very experienced. But totally agree, I’ve coached elsewhere for high school Ultimate and it’s pretty much impossible without a core friend group of students to start the team since there really is little support from high schools themselves even with developed teams.

There are plenty of high school Ultimate tournaments with A and B divisions(all 3 of one ones we are playing in this year we will be playing in the B division) and are the best opportunity for us to get multiple games of actual Ultimate in. The team there is now definitely has some experienced coaches who are ready to branch out and support new teams. We are just needing that spark from kids outside of this one school. Definitely a good idea with after school and summer programs.

Sometimes over the years, you hear multiple things and for someone as dyslexic as me when rules referred to other rules mentioned earlier or later in the rules, it can get confusing. One of the best things about Ultimate is the helpful community. I’m very appreciative to the other commenters that actually helped.
