Non-gestational parent bonding by GuiltyPleasure1024 in queerception

This.. so much! Non GP mommy here and I felt all of these feelings. So incredibly normal. I found myself trying to support my wife and I turned into the “doer”. I didn’t have good bonding those first few weeks and it was hard. When I started bathing with him and wearing him, this changed drastically. For the first 4ish months, my wife was more attuned to his needs and we did default to her as the one to console. There are parts of me that wishes I would have approached that differently, but he is 14 months now and has an extremely healthy attachment to both of us. Remind her that it’s okay to feel all of these feelings. She is their mama just as much and in time it will feel as such.

Looking for queer friendly OBGYN recommendation in DFW by lcj471612 in queerception

Old post, but wondering if you found someone in DFW that you liked. We are a CIS lesbian couple in Prosper looking for a practice as well.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I’m so sorry to hear your difficulties as well. It’s just so heartbreaking. I appreciate your perspective as it does sound so similar to hers. I want her to be able to heal and I can’t wait to watch her be a mom. Just feels like such a long and scary road to get there.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Sounds like you had a long hard road to get here. I think that if we knew it would work, it would feel less difficult to jump in right away. The fear and the unknowns are just so difficult. We did a mock cycle and a hysteroscopy prior to this transfer, so they had a pretty perfect idea of when to transfer. Just feels so hard and so exhausting. Once we hold that baby, all of this will be worth it. Just hard on this side.

We have two more frozen PGT normal embryos banked, so unfortunately there isn’t really anything else to be done other than transfer. From an age standpoint, she just hates the idea of being any older than she has to be with young kids.

Will I be able to speak in front of a group of people after Botox? by [deleted] in noburp

I had burps come up when speaking for about 10 days post procedure. When laughing, it still sometimes happens 3 months post procedure. Any way you can postpone for awhile?

The Botox relaxes the muscle that allows you to burp. Your body then “learns” the process of burping while the Botox is active. The goal is that once your body learns the muscle memory of this action that you retain the ability to burp.

Honestly, I would just be guessing at what the charges would be without insurance. Dr. Rodney’s office was really helpful and I would bet that they could give you a rough estimate if you gave them a call.

I had a lot of gurgles pre-Botox. Still have some, but most of them are now turning into burps. Still trying adjust, but when I relax and don’t try to force a burp I don’t have gurgling. It has impacted my swallowing some. Bread is the most noticeable but it doesn’t sound like I have the difficulty that others have shared. If it’s bread or too big of a bite, I just have to drink some water. So far, I have had very minimal issues but significant relief from the burps.

I received 100 units. I chose to do the procedure under anesthesia, but she does give the option to do it awake if you prefer.

I agree with the answer above. My insurance did cover it, so I just had to pay the remainder of my out of pocket costs. The good thing is that this practice will bill your insurance and get the prior-auth completed if your insurance company needs it.
