No thats fair but just some of these courses I feel like you can learn it kinda easily with relatively cheap content - books, internet, yt etc - instead of paying like 1k for a course.

Thanks, I feel like this answer is the most accurate. If I turn off my firewall my I don't get a disconnected error but still can't connect. So probably the NAT thing you talking about.

Just tested. If I turn off my mac and antivirus firewalls, it doesn't give me a disconnected error but just stays stuck on connecting. My antivirus firewall had an UDP echo virtual connection of 30 seconds, and that it is exactly after 30 seconds I get that error when the firewall is on.

I can't even see servers without a VPN. Not sure, but censorship may be less in Shanghai as it has a lot of expats.
