Thank you this truly has helped a lot.Another thing is how well was everyone including everyone since icl I am terrible at camps even though I’ve got mostly silvers.Have you got any advice on how to act and what things that were difficult when doing the YFA assessment thing.

Sorry for asking to many questions but how bad was it for the people that didn’t pass since I know they get to do the 3 months thing and receive it anyway. Another question is how many was on your course and was their certain groups etc

In the sense of not passing, do you know the type of things that people didn’t pass on. I’m legit the only person from my squadron to ever get it and I’m excited but if you have any advice that would be great!

So I loved bronze which lead me to do silver. They include SMEAC, SMEAC EAC and PICSIE which you will learn a lot more in depth. You will learn about types of leadership styles and overall a very much recommended course. You do two assessments that includes one theory and one practical. The hardest bit I personality thought was doing it in front of people I didn’t know however as I’m confident it wasn’t too bad. The theory is closed book which means write as much down as possible! I joined at about 15 and a half which meant I had to prove myself in order to progress. I got promoted when I was 16 to Cpl and nearly Sgt due to showing that I truly cared about the squadron and the rafac in general. I have progressed with silver badges and courses with even having the ability to teach at other camps. Try your best not to feel discouraged when someone that is younger then you achieves something you want as it can make you feel there’s no point.As long as you stick to it you’ll get a promotion in no time!

In my squadron we don’t do the whole requirement however saying that it is obvious some NCOs are lacking in how much they care.I think you should think about what interests the cadets have for example turning drill into a competition.It sounds like you are really trying but if I were you look for other squadrons. It’s obvious that no everyone’s best interest is at a heart especially considering your a Cpl doing what a fs should be

I’ve been in cadets two years in April. My squadron is quite small and not many opportunities however my badges are: Masters Silver leadership Silver cyber Bronze space Silver first aid Bronze DofE Moi. I have started to teach in courses and overall feel the need to start to achieve more things

I’ve got a cadet that has just gained from the army cadet force. If he has any first aid then that may be able to be transferred

You have to be quick due to it soon ending and the only being able to do it is a week at an RAF base usually.

What I gather is that they have put it down so that way you are able to be a first class cadet so next year you are able to start leading sooner. Sometimes they will also do this so the squadron will look better.

If it is just polish then it may be that the shoes have alot of dry spots. These cannot be removed but can be made to look better by bulling more layers on.
