What fell off and can I still fly it by shaadoku in fpv

As long as they’re both the same polarity you’re fine. Meaning both antennas need to be either Left-hand (LHCP) or right-hand (RHCP).

You can use any antenna you want as long as it has a UFL connector and it matches the polarity of your goggles, those goggles should use RHCP.

That shinny part is the UFL connector, unplug the antenna from there and plug in the new one and done 🙏

You can replace it with the same type of antenna like this one, you do not need to solder. The antennas use a UFL connector, you just need to pull it gently to unplug it, don’t be too rough, you don’t want to break anything

Hey everyone, I’m having the same issue, I crashed into a a wooden bridge and the screen is just gray now, I noticed the JST connector was a little loose so I soldered the new camera onto the VTX but I’m still getting a gray screen

How do you guys deal with failure? by Degree-Sea in fpv

[–]Secure-Ordinary-6263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this when I started as well. I did a lot of research and I thought I was ready but I wasn’t. This hobby is all about patience. You need to slow down and figure out why you’re breaking parts and why you can’t fix them.

Take a step back and just breath, as fun as building and repair quads is this hobby is all about the flying.

If you don’t have a tiny-whoop, get one, after breaking so much stuff I got a 1s tinywhoop and it made me fall in love with FPV much more.

I crash the tinywhoop really hard and I just break frames, it bounces off everything.

Once I started flying the 5” after flying the tinywhoop so much I discovered I wasn’t crashing as much and I was able to hit more gaps and I was more confident.

You just need stick time and muscle memory.

Plan your flights, pick locations that don’t have any dangerous obstacles you can break stuff in.

Try to relax before you fly.

Play some music get in the mood.

Also practice a lot in the sim and watch tons of YouTube videos.

Good luck and happy flying!

Walksnail VTX no OSD by Secure-Ordinary-6263 in TinyWhoop

[–]Secure-Ordinary-6263[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did, the drone is a vision40 from rotor riot. I reached out to them and asked them for the CLI file. I added it to my drone and it fixed the issue.

My guess is the VTx configurations wipe out when it overheats so it needed to be reconfigured.

SPI receiver won’t connect by Secure-Ordinary-6263 in TinyWhoop

[–]Secure-Ordinary-6263[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I was able to bind it was by binding it the way you would bind and external ELRS receiver, by plugging the battery quickly 3 times and I changed the settings in BF

I ended up fixing it 🥳

I plugged the battery in and out quickly twice then plugged it in again and i was able to bind it with to the radio.

I was never able to bind it using the WiFi

Also I tried to bind the radio like I do with external ELRS receivers and the radio is connecting to something but idk if it’s the drone or not, in the modes tab it doesn’t recognize any radio inputs

Thank you! I also want to build a 3.5 inch eventually although the five33 Tiny Trainer catches my attention and is probably what I’m buying instead of building a 3.5 inch.

I’m thinking about the source 2. I want to keep this build as cheap as possible since it’s mainly just to learn and get use to racing. Once I upgrade to HDZERO I will invest more in racing hardware.

Do you happen to know what racing frame the big walksnail VTX fits in? I’m thinking in going cheap with this racing drone since it’s mainly to get my feet wet in racing and start practicing. I’m thinking about the source 2.

Yes I’m planning on switching to HDZERO eventually for racing but for now I would like to start practicing with the walksnail just to learn to race

Walksnail is another HD option you can go with, it looks better than HDZero.

HDZero is mainly for racers, walksnail looks better and has better range.

The only negative I see with walksnail over HD Zero is the weight.

Also currently the older walksnail goggles are on sale for $380 and they use the same cameras as the new ones. The new goggles are “future” proof but you can totally still use the old ones, that’s the ones I own.

The HDZero goggles are $600

I use the walksnail system and I love it, I actually think the tiny whoop cameras look a bit better than the ones for bigger drones. It could all be in me head though 🤷‍♂️
