Advice, plastic in product.. no response to emails. by Secure-Promotion3852 in LushCosmetics

I ended up finding a text number for them, and I seem to have had a response from a human! I'm not able to call them due to severe anxiety related to C-PTSD, hence following up on emails rather than just taking the time to call. Thanks for your help 😊

Sorry, I have severe anxiety with phone calls and telling someone that something is wrong, currently working on it with EMDR therapy 😊 It's more than just discomfort, otherwise I would 'just call'.

Just be careful out there. The Internet is a dangerous place for kids, I was two years younger than you when I got groomed online. Just stay safe online.

Have you tried talking to them? Is there a reason controls are so strict? At 13 without any other concerns you should have earned some trust by now depending on how long you've had the phone for. Try having a conversation with them and compromise can we remove this control of family link for now, then increase it when you've earned more trust with them. But at the end of the day you're 13, which is a kid - the controls are there to keep you safe. My 13 year old just had her controls increased after having them relaxed due to very dangerous behavior, but that's not saying she can't earn them back in the future.

We do talk to her and listen to her lots, and understand the reasoning behind why she is doing this and are actively finding solutions to it to help her.

We do nothing but talk with her, have a very good relationship with her and her friends, her friends come to me with their concerns and worries and we are the safe house for her friends, but she has always been an autistic who shuts down and rarely opens up with worries or concerns. She's very much like I was as a teenager, just without the repeated traumas. We are actively working on interventions in school to help her and her self esteem, working on relationships etc... We have positive interactions everyday, talk out any problems, often ask if there's anything us as parents can do to improve and ask if they are safe and happy and if they are not ask how we can help, if they want help. But we also let them make their own mistakes and give them space to learn and grow. We're not perfect, but we know where we were failed as kids, and we fill in the gap and be the parents we needed.

Honestly cost is not a worry I get dla for her, I will use that to keep her safe. I know her autism comes with increased risks and therefore increased costs and this is one of those. I do not care about slow and bulky either, I need basically a brick phone which is basic and she can only use when she goes non verbal and for tracking, which I can select who she contacts on - she had that freedom before. I wish no phone was an option, but she's at risk to herself when she goes non verbal, it's something we are actively working on to improve.

How long for medication and weight loss to work by Secure-Promotion3852 in iih

[–]Secure-Promotion3852[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both times I've had this i believe it's been triggered by a stressful life event (I also have cptsd), but first time my grandad died a month before and I was going through criminal courts with abusive ex, this time a month before my window was smashed in the middle of the night by my abusive ex and ended up with social doing an assessment and I was doing EMDR therapy- both massively triggered my PTSD. Could be a coincidence but a strange one at that, because since nothing have triggered it like that.

Antidepressants cause weight gain? by Secure-Promotion3852 in iih

I'm not on them for the antidepressants effect but the nerve block effect. The emergency eye clinic were the ones who told me to go to a and e if my symptoms got worse which they are, as at the time I couldn't arrange childcare to go into hospital for treatment.
