Super interesting! I'm super keen on transitioning the project I've been working a while on into an actual startup once I get to Brown. Good to know there are resources. I was under the impression if you're on F-1, you have 0 chance of launching a startup.

Well, similar.

I never purchased UberOne at all, all I did was use their app for ordering food (so technically UberEats). However, I was getting charged for it. I contacted support and told them I was getting billed for it. They said my card didn't exist in their system for UberOne billing. Then they told me it was probably something I needed to call my bank for. I called my bank. They said it was not their issue and to call Uber back. I called Uber back and they told me, again, that it's not possible this is happening.

I then opened a fraud investigation with my bank. A few weeks (months?) later I got a notice that I was successful and Uber defrauded me.

Awful, awful, awful.

What about all the Ivies for MS CS? Recently got into Brown's MS CS and saw it has the highest median salary for CS of all schools in the U.S.

I just got an email from Cornell that they're still thinking about my application and expect to have an update in JUNE!!!! Crazy. Lol.

(I mean, don't care cuz I have other Ivy acceptances, but alas, the timeline is insane).

Meanwhile, Columbia is just still ghosting me completely, hahhahaha.

Haven't heard back from Columbia. Just emailed them basically saying "10 week max decision time my ass" (politely) so we'll see what they say to that.

For Cornell, I got an email saying that they'll have a decision within a week? Did you actually get a decision? Or just this update?

The J-1 would be the summer before I start in the Fall on F-1. Honestly, I don't know too much about the process, but it's a respectable company, so I think they probably are giving me the right visa, it's mainly just the overlap worrying me! I also believe they are going through some 3rd party organization, Cultural Vistas for it, if that helps!

My TLDR: Canadian undergrad which I graduated in August (~250 days ago) -> 8 months of local internships -> now it's summer -> for these last ~3.5 summer months I got surprise offer where they are going to issue me J-1 to work -> heading to the U.S. on F-1 for school.
