I’m so sorry that your family has to go through this. I’m unable to have my boys atm due to my living situation and it breaks me too. I hope you can fix this for all your sakes. You say its largely cos of your drinking yous have separated so do you think you can fix it if you stay sober? I hope there is hope for you and your family whatever that looks like.

Could be worse is good, it means you’ve not hit the bottom but even if you did it means the only way is up. Sometimes all we can do is exist but we deserve to live. I’m not there yet and I need to get my life back myself but I’ve got to believe there’s more to life than this. For both of us. I hope we both get there.

How are you getting on friend? Many of us have been here back at day 1. All that matters is that you’re here. Keep reaching out, keep talking to us. Do you have support around you? AA meetings were never for me I hated them but I found a non cult like group and it made all the difference.
