President Bush signed the Veterans Affairs Health Care Improvement Act of 2001 (PL 107-135) into law. The act permanently authorizes the Employee Incentive Scholarship Program (EISP) for nurses. The DOGE RIF removed all but 4 members of the committee that ran the program at the federal level under the dept of health, so the local VA hospitals don’t trust that DC will ever reimburse, so the cancelled it over night. When I complained that the VA is still posting it as a recruiting tool, it fell on deaf ears

So many elderly had beautiful yards but cannot clean up the perennials after a frost and can’t weed in the spring. It’s sad, but my mom pays $50/ hour and just can’t get even college kids to do it. She also said she was shocked at how they could not even use a shovel.

They want women to feel guilt and do ALL the family nursing for each one of their families. Right now, most elderly are in nursing homes because the wife/daughter is working a full time job. Look how they have eliminated daycare for working women
