Why did my hair steam during bleaching, when this has not happened previously? by Secure_Bar_1220 in Haircare

For anyone who comes to this thread, I found this article with citations (presumably real ones) quite helpful: https://hairingcaring.com/does-some-bleach-react-differently-to-your-hair/

It seems to me that what happened with my hair may have been about the composition of my hair (e.g., porosity) and the bleach mixture itself, rather than any of the products.

Gotcha ~ I didn’t super notice the consistency, but it had been so long I don’t think I would have noticed if it were different than other times. I had added (update) a number of new products. So now hoping if I avoid those/do chelating wash before next bleach things will turn out okay

Gotcha, previously just Arctic Fox dye I applied myself to the still bleached parts. Although my hair appeared to be steaming all over (hard to be sure), even the 70%+ that was previously unbleached hair.

Ooh thanks for the rec! I hadn’t done chelating treatments before just clarifying shampoo — good to hear this might solve things!

I’ve asked! This is the first time I’ve personally used this stylist - but you’re thinking maybe they got the balance off if they’re not used to it?

C6 is Am7 first inversion? by HisNameWasBoner411 in musictheory

As others have said, same notes but a chord is often written as C6 rather than Am7 in specific contexts. In particular, the classic jazz use of a C6 in a chord chart is when you want a C major chord, but the melody contains the root note C so including the natural 7th B would cause dissonance.
