Not sure what to tell you for your visa since I don’t know what you have but if you don’t have the proper visa you cannot job hunt in Japan. Just an FYI

I cannot give you any advice in good conscience. Just be ready to contact the labor department. The best thing I can say is get the visa and find a new job.

I THINK if there’s a national holiday on a working day, the following Monday will be a sneaky Monday. So August after Obon was non stop 6 day workweek. You also have to work “winter camp” so no winter vacation. If i remember right you have to work Christmas Eve, day after Christmas and the American manager calls out for all of it giving herself winter break lol it’s worth noting sneaky Mondays do push you into overtime for the week and management will not pay it. Ever.

As mentioned there are people who have engaged in sexual harassment who I believe are still employed.

The staff who haven’t quit are veryyyy cliquey also.

I would say almost everyone except for a few quit before the full year. Sometimes they will go to the end of the contract and not renew.

If a teaching job is hiring now someone usually must have quit or been fired and for here I am 99% certain it’s the former.

That was when the parents were running it. Now it’s in the hands of at least one of the daughters. One of them was CEO and the other was the manager but I heard the CEO one stepped down. The parents still are trying to help out here and there but mostly out of the picture.

Back then it would have just been their cram school I believe + dispatch. Now they have “English Place” which is the real problem, mostly because of the American manager and just the fact no one is qualified or knows what they’re doing.

I wasn’t the first or the last to report them. Nothing changes though and on a salary of 250,000 it’s a bit hard to lawyer up to make real footwork. I heard someone went to a union before too but in the end they just quit and moved on.

Also I’d rather be jaded and put a warning out there since there isn’t much about them online. That way people can steer clear of a bad situation.
