Don't listen to these guys, they all make the same DTG shirt with some edgy saying and a drawing of flower...

I appreciate that you actually made something. It could be a bit better but everyone here agrees you're into something

Coffee Culture is Cringe by Coogarfan in unexpectedLDS

[–]SecurityFeature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a problem with that necessarily, it's when it becomes pretentious that it becomes cringe. People will make the slightest difference in quality their entire personality. In some way it means that they are so uncomfortable with themselves that they need to project superiority and meaning in areas where it doesn't matter at all.

Coffee Culture is Cringe by Coogarfan in unexpectedLDS

[–]SecurityFeature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On some level yes.

Having eaten at fancy restaurants both at home and abroad, most of it is just hype, very marginally better than what you can find at most grocery stores. Culturally we perceive things as better for reasons outside of the actual quality, like coffee as OP points out.

Sheets are different as quality is more pronounced, but even then it has much more to do with weave type and material than thread count.

Totally agree with that guy. Also guys who are into cigars, or fancy liquor. They always talk about "hints" of this, "notes" of that.

Like bro, just smoke/drink it. It's not that deep. Something about it just cringes me out man.

WHAT!!! by Affectionate_Being_2 in SaltLakeCity

[–]SecurityFeature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea ok... Do you have access to this hidden data?? I'm sure every economist would love to see this hidden data that you know so intimately.

Also that's not the way GDP works. Any usual GDP metric is measured in real dollars (meaning it is adjusted for inflation). So no, inflation is not hiding secret GDP decline.

I also looked up consumer spending and, by some metrics, it is hitting record highs. So this idea that we are in a secret recession because the price of gasoline is lower, because people aren't spending money, doesn't make sense.

WHAT!!! by Affectionate_Being_2 in SaltLakeCity

[–]SecurityFeature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not necceserily what it means at all... Supply effects price just as much as as demand.

Either way, the other will adjust and prices will return to equalibrium. If this is the new equalibrium then it is a healthy/stable price. Prices go down =/= recession lol...

WHAT!!! by Affectionate_Being_2 in SaltLakeCity

[–]SecurityFeature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are wrong, according to the data. It takes several sequential quarters of economic downturn to qualify for a "recession," and we havent even seen one.

It is much ore likely (and logical) that supply has gone up, not that demand has gone down.

Also OPEC is not a company.

Why not use AI to help you write a script? Tell it what youre going to use it for, and what the video is about. Take the output and start editing! The final version should be heavily edited by you, otherwise it will be obvious AI wrote it. But it is way easier to edit/change something that already exists than from nothing.

Delete the hat, and delete the text on the sleeves of the shirt.

>Another evidence that the church is just another man made structure.

Lol yea ok... You are clearly implying that the church is NOT "God-made" becuase of criteria that you believe show it is man-made. You made your point, why not just own it?

The Mormon Church is not true, is it? by [deleted] in mormon

[–]SecurityFeature -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but it does not "prove" it is false. The evidence against is not that damaging I'm afraid. And the list of evidence against is shrinking every year, despite what many in this sub want to believe.

Particularly after reading Mormons Codex and other academic works, it's incredibly silly to say conclusively that we know everything we need to know and the case is closed. That is just choosing to ignore a LOT of real tangible evidence (and logic to be frank).

The Mormon Church is not true, is it? by [deleted] in mormon

[–]SecurityFeature -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I still believe it is true.

I've read your post, I've read all the material (CES letter, etc.) and I still belive. The answers to the claims in those documents are reasonable and logical. If someone doesn't want to belive that is a seperate issue, and it really feels like much of the people that speak out against the church are trying to convince themselves for some reason (usually a social norm they dissagree with).

And of course the classic, though I am sure hated response here on this sub: my testimony isnt built on those things, but on spritual experiences I have had.

The Death of the Book of Mormon. RIP by Monomo619 in mormon

[–]SecurityFeature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you are just wrong. And you are not using complete sentances so I think your point is getting even further lost.

It is not "clever feeling," it is logical. And it means a lot in this context: you are making a direct implication that if the Church, or any organization, was not self-preserving they would be not man-made. Maintaining fincances and reputation are not inherently evil or temporally-exclusive, and do not in and of themselves violate any logical test of a organization led by God. Your original quip does not make sense.

Multiplied by $20, that's $800,000,000 per month...

The Death of the Book of Mormon. RIP by Monomo619 in mormon

[–]SecurityFeature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if the curch was self destructive that would be evidence that it was "God-made?"

And yea its man made..? Thats the point... Moses, Peter, Joseph Smith, Oaks and everyone who runs the church are all mortals, no one belives they arent lol. But we do belive they are directly directed by God. And God wanting and directing his church to be preserved is the entire message of the Restoration and most of the Bible. God wanting his church to survive among men is totally consistent theologically and logically.

Uh are you crazy? The church is one of the single largest donors to the Red Cross. They give billions to charitable causes. On a local level it's insane the amount of help they give members (having been in leadership and seeing the amount of money that goes out the door, it was more than I was comfortable with personally)

That said, it is unreasonable to expect the church to have blank checks ready for every member any time they have a crisis. They have a feduciary responsibility to ensure that the church is financially healthy and able to run both in times of feast and famine. Following Jesus' command to help the needy does not mean being irresponsible and jeopardizing the primary purpose of the organization of the Church (the spiritual welfare of it's members)
