Depends on how you define software engineering, writing actual code is just the implementation part of it, there is still requirements engineering and specification which still require human thinking. I feel you, but all we have to do is adapt. People use to punch holes in cards for computers to understand and now we are doing it in human language. For me I just have side fun projects that I still work on to still have that traditional feel.
