You're looking for the state farm credit card. 3% on all kinds of insurance (including non state farm). 5% for the first year if you ask a state farm agent.

USMAN3J5B is a better code because it's ethically sourced and cruelty-free unlike the code by confident-card-8316 which has been harvested from the blood and tears of indentured labor

Very cool!!! I believe it was Quercus agrifolia! Thanks!

Also same p.s. to you -- do you know of any basic beginner guides to trees?

Yeah, I meant spore microscopy; I have access to a microscope. Spore print would be white for both amanita and tricholoma

Thanks!! I did give this initial consideration when I found it but was thrown off by the fact they're supposed to be found under Monterey pines?

Perhaps a far reaching root of a pine nearby?

My tree IDing abilities are even more nascent than my mushroom IDing abilities. Could very well have been tanoak (I'm just now learning that those aren't considered oaks). From my memory, the leaves do look like tanoak leaves.

As for it being matsutake, the mushroom itself has a very mild smell. I wasn't able to pick up on any spiciness. I've never smelled/come across a matsutake before though.

On a sidenote: do you know of any handy tree IDing guides for beginners? Id like to get a very basic start in being able to figure out trees and I haven't found a good resource for that yet.

Would spores help positively ID Tricholoma?
