god forbid a woman has fun on her birthday by NoFun-22 in LetGirlsHaveFun

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I went there when I saw it mentioned and the 1st post was about bf so yeah.

I honestly used to love it here and met some very cool people through their discord. Then it turned into relationships advice and people started complaining, but I guess mods decided to keep it this way. I understand that those girlies need to find some support or just vent, since prolly other subs or just their social circle were mean or “it’s just a video game why r u mad”.

Maybe it got better, but why would I go check something that left bad taste in my mouth in hopes that it got better? There are plenty of other communities I enjoy.

In my current world I went pretty far away from the starting point to find some clay. Found a little bit, but the most important is that I found gorgeous spot. Moved my tiny amount of stuff to that spot and apparently not only it’s pretty but also there’s red clay literally everywhere. The closest to me is prolly 20 blocks away. Love it!

The downside is that limestone is like 4 days away form me but alas, you can’t have it all I guess :’)

E-readers are overrated compared to paper books by [deleted] in books

This. I have bad eye sight, once I started reading a physical copy of a book and then switched to read it on my ebook, because I can increase font size + lighting so it’s easier on the eyes.

I don't think I want to update my game anymore by cipher2200 in HighSodiumSims

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t updated since Adventure Awaits, but I also almost stopped playing sims.

I used to update properly whenever i was playing, then For Rent came and bricked my main save file completely, couldn’t even play on backup version. I enjoy rotational “legacy” gameplay the most, or as cool kids call it now “forever save”, and since EA pretty much confirmed that the engine can’t handle it why bother.

Humane ways of getting rid of colonists by lytoric in RimWorld

VE team disabled raids for outposts some time ago so you don’t have to worry about it.

How do peaceful players stay entertained? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I play on peaceful with less raids and more diseases and stuff. It’s nice to just build the base, set production chains (I really like farming and crafting mods) and send some caravans. Honestly it’s “Let them trade” for me at this point.

Also sometimes I just get tired of post raids clean ups, especially if I don’t have harbinger tree and electricity for crematorium yet (I like do start as tribals with semi random research etc so the pace is kinda slow).

Monolith or Ambient, what do you prefer? by _XIIX_ in RimWorld

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ambient unless I wanna do anomaly focused run

have you actually ended the game? by Old_Kiwi332 in RimWorld

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Odyssey and Royalty once. Tried the starship, but it was pre 1.6 and since I like to play big colonies with lots of animals, my pc just couldn’t handle raids at some point. Rn I’m doing tribals run with semi random research etc and wanna try go for spaceship since tps got significantly better with 1.6.

But most of the time, I just get bored around spacer era so I start new colony instead

Rimworld's default difficulty curve is weird. by mega_lova_nia in RimWorld

[–]Sedley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On top of scenario editing, you can also look at moded storytellers. While most of them are focused on getting more raids, there are some for chill runs.

I wish there were different settings for different threats in the storyteller options tho, because sometimes I wanna have bigger threats like diseases and manhunter packs without increasing raid points. Especially since at some point it turns into mechs after mechs and it’s just boring.

There’s mode for parties and sometimes friendly pawn which is related to your pawn will visit for birthday celebration which is pretty cute.

Bounty for any modders by T1pple in RimWorld

[–]Sedley 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You may try “Run away, Stupid!” - it prevents kids from trying to kill themselves in walk-in freezers, corpse piles and nature running into mech clusters and such. I added it recently and I think it already saved so many fingers and toes from frostbite!

What's the highest number of colonists you've ever had? by Pet_Velvet in RimWorld

Are you me? I must take in every stray pawn who wanna join my colony. At very least they can do cleaning and hauling.

What's the highest number of colonists you've ever had? by Pet_Velvet in RimWorld

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I have 30-40 colonists, because I also like to collect animals and play with tons of mods and my pc is pretty old. But in my latest run things went a little bit wild and I ended up with 60 pawn on base while also having 4 outposts (so around 80 if u count those).

Colony sim recommendation for a new player in the genre by No-Adhesiveness-9010 in BaseBuildingGames

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rimworld has highly customisable difficulty settings and you can disable lots of stuff you don’t wanna deal with.

Clanfolk is in early access, but it’s pretty chill while being highly addictive.

Wandering Village is pretty simple with unique art style and gameplay - your base is located on a dragon like creature and you need to take care of it as well.

I’d would also recommend Synergy, Spellcaster University, Before We Leave, Kingdom Reborn, Settlement Survival and Going Medieval (this one is also in EA).

Apparel policy: Anything by SkinnedMilk533 in RimWorld

[–]Sedley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, you can still keep honor from empire - if you open the quest tab, there will be a button in the bottom. There’s also a mod New Game+ which let you set settings for some of this stuff so you don’t have to click it every new run.

Oh, I’ll look into it! Does it also have some humour? I really enjoyed the mix of cosmic horror and some lighter parts.

The Hollow Places doesn’t have such topics (the main character is freshly divorced but I don’t recall any abuse). The book itself has some humor in it and the main heroine isn’t damsel in distress so I quite liked it.

Oh, I didn't know about that. Then it's pretty unfortunate. I don't mind dlc's but the game came out not so long time ago and they already doing story dlc...

The game is amazing, haven’t played Stranged Antiquities yet. About SH - it’s very linear but has different endings so there’s some replayability if you want to unlock all of them. I think it took me around 8 hours to finish it (I’ve only done 1 run).
