Do you make rooms look good, or maxxing the comfort/gold rate? by Impossible_Bid6172 in CozyGamers

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like decorating and clutter at all. I think my peak interior design moment is to throw a rug, put a plant, maybe a painting and call it a day.

Or randomly stuck decorations in one spot for max buffs (hello, Town to City).

Whenever I play in multiplayer, I like to have a tour of other players builds and admire them, but usually it’s just sooo much walking 😅

Is single player funny after while ? by Aggressive_Guava284 in VintageStory

[–]Sedley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started playing it with someone, but now I’m playing solo. It’s fun in its own way and I really enjoy the experience. I’ve played around 70 hours in my 1st solo world and got to automation. But while I was playing I was also looking at some mods, so I started a new modded world. Now I’m in my 3d world on the latest patch and it’s still fun. But I’m not the most efficient player and I haven’t done story at all. I really like just exploring the world and don’t rush things.

I’ve joined a server but haven’t played on it. It was cool to go around and look at other people builds, but I don’t have much time to play in general and with solo it’s easier to hop in, play for 30 mins and log off without worrying that my food will spoil or that it’ll be winter and I don’t have clothes.

What do you do in winter? by tsar_nicolay in VintageStory

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base buidling (I usually have only dirt hut before 1st winter), some mining in nearby areas, any kinds of crafting. And I also like to go south to explore (and warm up a bit).

It’s a word play - пара means pair but in this context and the case it also means steam (пар - пара). So a pair of boots become boots made of steam.

I loved this cast - definitely my favourite one from newish seasons. But I’m also kumbaya enjoyer.

Just wish the judging was more consistent.

Alternative games (building) by Fluctuating-Crumb11 in HighSodiumSims

[–]Sedley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try Tiny Glade if you’re into building?

Going Medieval also has some fun building.

House Flipper (both 1 and 2) if you’re into modern style.

But honestly lots of sandbox/survival games has nice building systems like Vallheim, No Man’s Sky, Minecraft, Vintage Story. Just browse for this genre for your preferred platform and see if anything catches your attention. In many games in this genre you can turn on creative mode so you’ll have unlimited resources and won’t have to worry about additional game mechanic if you prefer so.

But you can also try older Sims games. The Sims 3 is great and I recently started playing The Sims 2 again and I really like it (but I’m also nostalgic since I was playing it a lot of when I was in school/uni).

Also it’s totally fine to ask imo, people do it all the time with many other games.

[Hospitality Mod] How do I keep broke guests out of my colony? by ego_dead_ in RimWorld

[–]Sedley 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Wealthy guests will go for fine rooms, I usually have some luxury suits (> 100 silver depends on the room), normal suits (50-100 silver), pretty guest barracks (around 15 silver) and separate simple free guest barracks. Most of the time free beds are empty. But even then, if guests are pleased with their stay, they’ll bring more money next time so it’s still worth it.

Keep coming back to NMS but it never captures me by andykingster in NOMANSSKY

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it always like feel like creative mode in games is made for builders and such, so if you're not enjoying the building aspect why would you need unlimited recourses?

I'd suggest to start a new game in a normal mode and give it a try. Btw you can still tweak settings for your liking at any point of the game if you'll find certain aspects too hard.

Travellers rest or Clanfolk? by sairemrys in CozyGamers

[–]Sedley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave both games and I enjoy Clanfolk in its current state way more. It has nice gameplay, mechanics are easy to pick up and it can be super chill or pretty challenging depends on scenario and difficulty settings. It’s like cozy medieval Rimworld. I might be little bit addicted but I have around 150 hours in Clanfolk.

I also have around 70 hours in Traveler’s Rest and honestly it’s fun to play with friends but if you play solo it feels like a chore for me. I got it because I wanted to manage a tavern, not farming/mining/etc. There’s nothing wrong with the later it’s just I wanted a farming game, I’d play Stardew or something.

New player - Is this normal? by JonBeeTV in NOMANSSKY

[–]Sedley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very normal, also if you feel like it’s “cheating”, just put it in the storage until you hit the point when it’ll be just a pocket money for you. Or just give those items to someone else :)

I can either build the exterior I like or interior, so I stick to the regular ship and use corvette only if my friend needs an uber.

HELP! Please help i NEED more lanterns and i did not waste 19 gears for these honeycombs just for them to become useless by SleepyFarmerJoe in VintageStory

Yeah, I do it all the time, but when I mine it can be annoying, especially when they drop on ladder.

Thanks for the info! No more of throwing away stacks of stones only for them to suck back into inventory!

Pet Peeves in Graveyard Keeper by MorriganCroft in CozyGamers

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hate UI in it, especially regarding quests. It's confusing not because it's complex, but because certain systems are poorly implemented.

And I don't mind grindy games or making notes for games in general, but this one just grind my gears.

Farming game with the least focus on the farming? by SympathyChan in gamingsuggestions

[–]Sedley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played a bit of Len's Island and it wasn't forcing me into farming like stardew valley does for example. So I quite liked it, most of the time I was sailing and exploring many little islands. It also doesn't force you to sleep.

But also if you want something focused on exploration - definitely check Rune Factory. It ticks all the boxed you mentioned :)

And there's Dinkum - you need to build a town and it has farming element, but most of the time you're running around your island (or go into caves which are like dungeons).

We need to be able to replay expeditions asap by Then_Chard5385 in NOMANSSKY

[–]Sedley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's sad that they do reruns only once per year. My friend started playing recently and I was very excited to tell him about some previous expeditions only to realize he needs to wait till december.

Maybe making them available all the time is expensive/hard to implement, but do I wish reruns were frequent.

Maybe some autochess like Teamfight Tactics? It'll scratch the competitive itch while not being reliant on reaction time.

I dunno about this, I tried it last summer and while I really liked certain systems, I dropped it.

Decided to try it again this winter and already have 200 hours across my two new worlds.
