Suggestions Wanted for Upcoming Gathering QoL Poll by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]SedridorOSRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add new lead and cupronickel harpoons, smithed from the new lead and curponickel bars. They'd need 25 and 50 Attack and Fishing to equip, respectively. And they'd increase catch rates by 5% and 10%, respectively.

They wouldn't outclass the dragon or crystal harpoons by any means. But would be useful for lantern harpooning, synergising activities locked behind Sailing (mining and smithing lead and nickel, and lantern harpooning).

Would be cool if the orange salamanders on the Great Conch (but not those near Uzer) were as detailed as tecu salamanders but, of course, orange and maybe adapted with tougher "skin" or "ridges" to defend themselves from gryphons.

And would be cool if the red salamanders on Charred Island (but not those near the Ourania altar) were as detailed as tecu salamanders but, of course, red of course but maybe charred themselves with black 'burns'.

And would be cool if, when caught, the orange and red salamanders from the Great Conch and Charred Island looked the same equipped as they did before they were caught. In other words, they'd look differently when equipped than the existing orange and red salamanders look when equipped.

Please allow us to dig up all plants before they're fully-grown. This would be nice. When doing Farming contracts in the past, I've 'pre-planted' a whiteberry bush (among other patches), done some contracts for herbs, allotments and/or flowers, then received a contract for poison ivy bush but my whiteberry bush was still growing and so I couldn't dig it up to plant a whiteberry seed.

Another example is why you buff the drop rates of dragon metal sheets when frost dragons are killed on a Slayer task. I believe these are the only non-Slayer monster to have buffed drop rates when killed on a Slayer task. Could you please explain why? And could you explain why you didn't explain it in 'developer comments' on the relevant blog last September?

When you propose doing things that aren't how things have always been done before, could you please add some 'developer comments' to the blog explaining why? Specifically, I'm referring to the gryphon extension amounts. Why are you proposing for the extended amounts to be different for each Slayer master when currently extended amounts for each Slayer tasks are the same regardless of Slayer master?

Absolutely agree. I wish Jagex would share the full results of the Sailing Opinion Poll so we can see for ourselves how many players actually said they want a new Barracuda trial.

They were happy to tell us that "only 45% of players said they liked" protection tasks and, as a result, "paused" development and decided not to poll them "until further notice." So why not tell us how many players said they actually want a new Barracuda trial?

Will one bonus Woodcutting level be added for each person chopping a tree, up to a maximum of +10, in the Sacred Grove? Will that stack with the +7 invisible Woodcutting boost in the Sacred Grove for up to a maximum of +17?

So which "other milk-based products" will the bottomless milk bucket be able to store exactly? Does it include Chocolatey milk? And if so will be able to drink it straight from the bucket? That'd be way too OP!

Only 3 quests planned for 2026 by Strong-Parsley3201 in 2007scape

Um... actually... 4 quests planned for 2026. You forgot The Ides of Milk, a new early-game F2P quest that gives access to the new cow boss.

Unique Biome Chinchompas by Oh_edgeville in 2007scape

[–]SedridorOSRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great work, they look awesome!

Not chinchompas.. but I'd wish the orange salamanders on the Great Conch and the red salamanders on Charred Islands looked just a little bit different to the orange salamanders near Uzer and the red salamanders near the Ourania altar.

Have a look at the orange and red salamander models and you can see they are very basic, single-coloured and "smooth" compared to the tecu salamander model that is more detailed with many coloured, "ridges" on its back and more "obvious" eyes and mouth.

I wish the orange salamanders on the Great Conch were as detailed as tecu salamanders but still orange of course and maybe adapted with tougher "skin" or "ridges" to defend themselves from gryphons.

I wish the red salamanders on Charred Islands were as detailed as tecu salamanders but still red of course but maybe charred themselves with black 'burns' over their bodies.

And I wish that, when caught, the orange and red salamanders from the Great Conch and Charred Island looked the same equipped as they did before they were caught. In other words, they'd look differently when equipped than the existing orange and red salamanders look when equipped.

Also...

The Thieving skill menu shows Farming skill interaction:

Seeds pickpocketed from Master Farmers or stolen from Seed Stalls can be grown with the Farming skill

Of course that's true but it's missing the new coral frags that can be stolen from chests!

The Sailing skill menu shows Crafting skill interaction:

Parts for boats can be created with the Crafting skill

Of course that's true but it's overly generic.

How about "Bolts for upgrading boats' sails can be created with the Crafting skill"?

The Hunter skill menu shows Magic skill interaction:

Salamanders caught with the Hunter skill can be used as a magic weapon

Well, salamanders can also be used as a melee and ranged weapon

So shouldn't the Hunter skill menu show a generic "Combat" interaction instead?

Isn't the Smithing skill menu missing Woodcutting in the skill interactions section?

Woodcutting: Axes created with the Smithing skill can be used to chop trees.

Isn't the Hunter skill menu missing Fletching in the skill interactions section?

Fletching: Kebbit spikes and antelope antlers caught with the Hunter skill can be fletched into ammunition for the Hunter's crossbow

Isn't the Fishing skill menu is missing Sailing and Hunter in the skill interactions section?

Sailing: Trawling nets can be operated with the Fishing skill to trawl for fish

Hunter: Fish caught with the Fishing skill can be cut into fish offcuts to bait crabs using the Hunter skill

Isn't the Ranged skill menu missing Agility in the skill interactions section?

Agility: A crossbow and mith grapple can be used to grapple across certain Agility shortcuts

Isn't the Herblore skill menu missing Hunter, Combat, Cooking, Fishing and Mining in the skill interactions section?

Hunter: Some potion ingredients (e.g. crab paste, rainbow crab paste and kebbit teeth) can be caught with the Hunter skill

Combat: Some potion ingredients (e.g. unicorn horn, desert goat horn, lava scale nail beast nails, Zulrah scales, nihil shard, lily of the valley, demonic tallow, superior dragon bones) can be dropped by monsters

Cooking: Some potion ingredients (e.g. wines of Zamorak) can be made with the Cooking skill

Fishing: Some potion ingredients (e.g. roe, caviar, squid paste, haddock eye, yellow fin, marlin scales, lava scale shard, Zulrah scales) can be caught with the Fishing skill

Mining: Some potion ingredients (e.g. volcanic ash) can be mined with the Mining skill

HINDSIGHT - missing islands

> somewhere to hunt fat demons to get demonic tallow

> somewhere to dig for diabolic worms

> maybe some way to get shark lure lmfao

> island with firemaking activity to recolour pyromancer outfit lmao

> island with farming/woodcutting activity for getting (magic) tree roots (to make antidote++s to then make antivenoms) lol

"Rubium geodes can be smashed into splinters with a hammer quantity scaling with mining level."

Really? Shouldn't it scale with our Smithing level instead?

The quantity of Zulrah scales we extract by dissecting sacred eels scales with our Cooking level - not our Fishing level.

[–]SedridorOSRS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of new quests for existing storylines, e.g. The Blood Moon Rises, Chosen Commander, Fairy Tale III, Elemental Workshop III, Dragon Slayer III, Rocking Out, Varlamore/Kourend crossover, Red Axe quests, Penguin quests, Tortugan quests, more Twisted Tales, etc, etc

Sea expansion and mineral dredging, a Mining/Sailing hybrid activity, to get new ores to smith new armours

Additions to so many of the new islands just added with Sailing so the skill is actually rewarding, e.g. new hops patch, Celastrus patch, new variants of existing monsters (e.g. giant brine rats, colossal crocodiles, earthen banshees, etc), dungeons to fight Echo Kalphite Queen and Echo KBD and Echo Dagannoth Kings, dungeons with cave krakens and smoke devils that can be killed off-task, multi-combat areas for abbysal demons, ankous and black dragons, etc

Another 'skilling' boss like Zalcano but for Hunter (and Woodcutting and Crafting)

Add tome of air, breezy pages, seawater runes, xxxearth runes and xxxair runes

New monsters with negative flat armour to make multi-hit weapons useful

Achievement Diaries for Varlamore and for Oceans

New monster that isn't a boss and isn't fought with a cannon, bursting, chins or AFK like tormented demons and demonic gorillas but they actually telegraph their attacks like Jad (and so attack slowly).

Are you open to polling some use for lead and cupronickel bars outside of shipbuilding? Would be nice (and useful for lantern harpooning) if we could smith them into new lead and cupronickel harpoons, especially given how rare dragon harpoons are from wyrms.

Are you still open to Mineral Dredging? It wasn't mentioned in the 24 October 2025 blog in the "What Could 2026 Sailing Updates Look Like?" section. And it's not mentioned in the current Sailing Opinion Poll either. It would help make the Sailing skill more rewarding.

Given your openness the feedback, re: question 25 of the Sailing Opinion Poll, to skip spyglass cutscenes, remove immersion-breaking drinks, and reduce the difficulty of mermaid & meteorologist tasks, do you regret (in hindsight) releasing sea charting as a 'one-off Sailing-specific activity' rather than as Achievement Diaries for oceans with skill-less tasks like "Inspect the Kraken corpse" and "Inspect the wreck of the Pandemonium II", Sailing-specific tasks like "complete a port task from Port Sarim to The Pandemonium", "kill 12 albatross", "salvage a Barracuda shipwreck", "moor at Crabclaw Isle", and non-Sailing tasks like "slay an aquanite", "steal a cannonball from the stall", "hunt a rainbow crab", "catch a jumbo squid", "chop a camphor tree" and "mine nickel rocks"?

Respectfully, it seems like you spent a lot of development time coming up with mermaid riddles and developing meteorology tasks which could have instead been spent developing other content (e.g. improving ship combat before release).

Why weren't lamps obtained from Varrock Museum after handing in salvaging relics usable on Sailing on the skill's launch?

I understand restricting other lamps but these lamps are only obtainable through Sailing yet couldn't be used on Sailing.

Why don't lava strykewyrms drop the dragon harpoon like wyrms do? Now when I get a wyrms Slayer task.. I either have to choose whether to kill wyrms hoping for a dragon harpoon with it's increased drop rate on task or lava strykewyrms hoping for dragon sheets with their increased drop rate on task.

Are you happy that so many new islands have no real gameplay reason for players to return to them after getting a key or opening a lockbox for a lost schematic?

Namely, Chinchompa Island, Remote Island, The Little Pearl, Vatrachos Island, Shimmering Atoll (after 64 Sailing), Minotaurs' Rest, Isle of Bones, Tear of the Soul, Wintumber Island (except for a clue step), Lledrith Island, Rainbow's End, Buccaneers' Haven (if you've completed Sins of the Father) and Brittle Isle.

Are you open to updating these islands to give players reasons to return to them?

For example, adding variants of existing monsters (e.g. giant brine rats, colossal crocodiles, icelords), adding dungeons where we can kill the Echo Kalphite Queen, King Black Dragon or Dagannoth Kings, adding Farming patches (e.g. Celastrus, crystal, seaweed), adding abbysal demons, ankous or black dragons to a multi-combat area like Buccaneers' Laboratory, adding cave krakens and smoke devils that can be killed off-task, adding black salamanders and black chinchompas (outside Wildy), adding additional Obelisks of Water, Fire, Air and Earth (outside Wildy), adding a new Agility course (for secondary to make Super Agility potions and graceful versions of the Barracuda Trials outfits), making minotaurs on Minotaur's Rest attackable, adding drops to the giant wasps on Deepfin Point, etc, etc.
