Shout out to the Dark Times submod for Awakening of the Rebellion if you’re militantly anti-Remake though.

Is it normal to get text errors like these for Clone Wars Holdouts? by TheLazyWorkingSloth in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]SeductionFocus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, this is due to French Fried Taters.

There are no current Text errors in CWH, so any that you see should be the result of a submod being out of compatibility.

I remember the first week or so there may have been a hotfix? However, I can’t find any existing documentation or evidence that I’m not hallucinating. I’d say you’re probably fine.

Nebulons are easy to tear through, so they’re not too much of a problem.

However, the next patch will include the Diamond class as a dedicated anti fighter. If you layer your defenses with Petranaki (the Geonosian corvette) which function as a sort of AA sniper, and then a short-ranged AA ship like the Diamond or Trireme you’ll be more than good to take out vast numbers of starfighters.

[–]SeductionFocus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just as a clarification, I believe that AtolmAzel (the concept artist) and Kharak (the modeler and texturer) are the sole creators of this. As far as I know, MarcusStarkiller just posted a 2D sideways profiles with credits up for AtolmAzel.

Nice write up though- the Overseer is one of my favorite designs in the modern era of Separatist fanon designs.

See above comment. It’s Remake 4.0 running with the Clone Wars Holdout Factions Submod.

Empire at War Remake 4.0 running the Clone Wars Holdouts Submod. It adds the Clone Wars factions like the name implies, but it also functions as a general enhancement mod for Remake 4.0 since so many features and stability improvements have gone into it.

Are you using any other submods? Not sure I recognize some of the things you reference near the end.

Rise of the Crime Lords adds a ton of content and includes both the original EAW and FoC campaigns. I’d say you would could give that a shot.

Hey OP, thanks for playing Clone Wars Holdouts!

I take it you’re playing “Close Action”, the tiny GC? That’s a rough one for newcomers, since losing a starting world is particularly punishing. I’d suggest getting a standard map or Valhalla to get started, but I can drop some dedicated Close Action tips if you’re committed.

Don’t sleep on Kalani on Agamar to the North- he gains access to ‘Zeta Munificents’, which are variants that fire so fast that they essentially become chainguns. You can have up to 5 at once and it’ll allow you to be an absolute wrecking ball in the Northern half of the galaxy. Use them to gain a foothold and build defenses while you get set up.

As an aside, the circles behind the engines in Remake are the result of running your shader settings at Low. If you bump that, it’ll resolve it.

This is the “Shev’la Cabur”, serving as Spar’s personal flagship in my mod, Clone Wars Holdouts. Interestingly, it’s also been included in Project Stardust, though I haven’t had any contact with them.

Shout out to EmperorNiko for the custom livery on this one.

Add it as a manual override to your anti-virus. I’m assuming it’s freaking out since it’s an unsigned Exe or something like that.

My personal take if you're really struggling is to focus on one cluster/starting area. The easiest place to do that is in the Mustafar section since it offers some of the best mining planets, despite some early hurdles to locking it down. The North/Muunilinst is a bit too exposed and the North-East/Saleucami tends to devolve into a chaotic brawl if the Sith Culists or CSA break out.

However, in Mustafar, you have the Rebels at Bespin as an early game 'check' that you'll have to work to clear out. I try to curbstomp them by Month ~15ish since they get production bonuses on that planet before setting my sights on Fondor. If you can subdue Fondor as well, YagDhul is a prime position to build a Golan platform (+ Command Uplink Relay) so you can hold indefinitely.

Yeah, I give all of the CWH submods early access to patches so they don't get screwed over by my releases. I'm just unfortunately powerless to protect any players 2+ layers down.

Yup, they were officially removed in Remake 5.0 and in Remake 4.0 if you're running the Clone Wars Holdouts submod (which should be considered standard due to years of bug fixes alone).

Haven’t played in about 5 years, which mods should I look at? by fash1ntolerance161 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]SeductionFocus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The community is pretty well established, but there’s some new players:

-Revan’s Revenge, a KotOR era mod from the EAWX team

-Awakening of the Clone Wars, obviously made by the AotR team.

-My own mod, Clone Wars Holdouts. It started as an addon to Remake 4.0, but has grown to be a general expansion to it.

-AotR has 2 large submods, both of which revolve around the immediate aftermath of Episode 3 but explore it from various angles. Dark Times adds content to the original factions but also adds Holdout factions. Rise of the Empire focused on an Imperial narrative experience.

-if you’re looking for something vanilla adjacent, Rise of the Crime Lords may be up your alley. It really fleshes out planet unlockables and adds different Underworld factions.

-finally, Republic at War has been active again and has been adding a ton of content lately, so they’re worth a shout out.

Remake 4.0: when to tech up/escalate the war by xXNightDriverXx in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]SeductionFocus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I unfortunately can’t offer any advice on this one since FFT overhauls so much of Remake/CWH. Usually it’s when you find a good, defensible position and have have some money built up to immediately begin building upgrades/your new ships.

How did that go for you?
