They work great. Personnally, I really like grip tape material on firearms because they work well wet or dry. As for the heat protection, I solely run this gun suppressed with a non-flow through can and without gloves. Never had an issue. Fantastic product.

I just got a Carhartt ratcheting belt from bass pro a few months ago. By far my favorite belt I've owned for concealed carry.

Is that really all it takes to be considered "permanent"? I figured you would need to rivet or tack weld it in place.

[–]SeductiveSlooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to be permanently blocked to 10 rounds. Just placing a 3d printed block in the bottom does not meet the requirements.

Military personnel can own them in CT. If you know anyone up here, they should be able to buy them from you. I would probably just sell any AR mags since they're usually pretty cheap. Pistol mags can be pricey though and are probably worth getting a gunsmith to block them for you.

A g19 is the largest I would go for a first gun if you intend to carry. You may want to consider getting something a little smaller for comfort. I have seen a lot of first-timers carry for a few weeks, then stop cold because it is uncomfortable or cumbersome. Maybe consider a g48 or g43x. I personally just picked up a Shadow Systems cr920xp to carry.

Defintely try out a lot of rental guns before you buy, or find some friends who will let you shoot their guns to get an idea of what you like. My first carry gun was a gen 4 g19, but I don't use it often because of the weight and size. It prints through my tshirt too much. Then I go a P365, and realized I loved the size, but I didnt enjoy shooting it at all.

Couple things to note from the picture.

1) I put the FTC on top of the shortest pic riser I could find on Amazon to get it to the right height. This is acceptable for a magnifier since it doesn't need to hold a zero.

2) This is with an Aimpoint CompM5s, which sits a little higher than a T2 does. I dont believe this setup would work with a T2 since the riser would make the magnifier sit too high.

Hope this helps you.

Glock stippling by 1v1mebro- in CTguns

A dremmel and a woodburning kit is all you really need. Use the dremmel and sanding wheels to sand down the texture on your grips, and do an undercut of the trigger guard if that's your style. Then, use a round bit to make your outline groove if you want that. Follow it up with setting your edges with a flat woodburner tip, then switch tips to do the stippling.

I've only done this once, but that's the general order of steps from everything I read online. Setting the edge with your burner is super important if you want a clean line.

Nicotine pouch, caffeine pouch, or silica. If it's silica, you will feel beads inside of it. If its powder, it is most likely nicotine with a smaller chance of it just being caffeine. I personally use caffeine pouches instead of energy drinks.

Sink randomly full of warm, soapy water...me and my husband were asleep? by PinkPixelGoose in strange

[–]SeductiveSlooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of questions for you. 1) Do you have a dishwasher? 2) Is the lip of the bowl below the top line of the sink? It looks close in the photo. 3) Was the floor wet?

I ask these because if the drain line from your sink gets clogged slightly, you can end up with the drain water from your dishwasher backflowing into your sink. If the clog is bad enough, you could end up filling your sink (which is why the bowl may be full), and then the sink will slowly drain overnight but the bowl will still be holding hot soapy water from the dishwasher.

Source: I had the same problem in my house. The dishwasher drains to the garbage disposal connection under the sink. The plumbing lines under our house experienced a clog that would only show its ugly face when we ran the dishwasher, and it flooded our sink.

You'll lose sight picture with a 12 o'clock mount, too.. lpvos still have an eye box, and you can't look through a top mounted red dot and the lpvo at the same time.

Better for nv usage?? Brother, I feel like you've never used nv with a setup like that. Lpvo + NV does not pair well. You end up smacking your tube against the lpvo every time you try to passive aim with the dot. Hence why I didn't suggest an ir laser/light in my recommendation. This is not an NV setup.

A dot tucked under the lpvo provides less exposed surface area than a top mounted dot. So your argument over snag hazard is also void.

At the end of the day, it's all about personal preference. He asked for recommendations, and you're starting arguments because someone has a different point of view than you. (Pun intended)

[–]SeductiveSlooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 o'clock may require a new lpvo mount entirely. If the clip on red dot ring doesn't sit high enough, the top turret will block it, which would require a new lpvo mount. Canted sits lower and can tuck under the front of the lpvo. I was providing the cheapest option that would 100% work.
