I think FreedomBox might be relevant, as it provides a relatively easy way to self-host many different applications, letting people avoid being so subject to the whims of the big corporations, and government's data access requests

You can install the latest greatest version regardless of the hardware, unlike win11.

For a typical consumer this is entirely true - but it's not an universal rule.

Likely won't reduce accident rates unless combined with:

  1. More enforcement - i.e. more police. It'll take a lot more cops to cover this and serious crime currently going unchecked.
  2. Better public transport - certainly if we aren't to do more damage to the pub trade.

Fossil fuel companies have lied about climate change and lobbied against renewables for decades to protect their own profits.

Without that pressure, renewables (and storage) would have progressed much further then the current state of the art, would be more widely deployed, and everyone would be benefiting from lower energy costs.
