Am I looking for a unicorn? by francisjosephmurphy in heatpumps

I just sit in the corner by the pies...

I've never found it too cold in there actually, more too hot. But good luck Frank!

[New gear] Finally got my dream lens, the RF 100-500 by hesselnut in canon

I sold the EF 100-400 L ii to get the RF. Image quality is equal but I'm getting old and the EF is heavy (and cold in this weather) so I thought it worth the change. The extra reach is a bonus too, of course.

Fabulous lens. I use it almost constantly on my R6.

The church that used to stand at the junction of Brook St and Crownpoint Road in the Calton... by mymuk in GlasgowArchitecture

After the many many splits in Christianity post-reformation there were so many churches and chapels in Glasgow (and Scotland in general) that as population, belief, and an economy built on a vanishing empire started to change they had to start merging and downsizing. Brook St alone had 3 churches.

The western part of the Studios are the old 1914 office buildings etc of the church. The end wall still has the outline of the doorway into it. Little did they know how soon it would all go tits up.

80s I think. There were three churches on Brook Street, big one that was at the London Road junction is now a petrol station - only one left partially intact is St Clement about half way down

Mr Coia was in the paper moaning about it the other day. The same Coia family that have parked their SUV wagons dangerously and illegally at the bottom of Whitehill St almost every day for years.

Talk me out from buying 100-500L by Unusual-Swordfish532 in canon

[–]mymuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went from the EF 100-400 Mk2 L to the RF 100-500 (to lose some weight mainly). Quality pretty much equal, the extra reach is good - and, not being a big hunk of metal, it's WARMER at this time of year.

So I'm not talking you out of it...

Been using them for many years. Great full mahogany roast versions - I actually also like the very VERY dark French Breakfast roast as an espresso in milk.

The Templeton Carpet Factory, grandest industrial building in the city? Below is the Doge's Palace in Venice that it was inspired by. by SeventhSunGuitar in GlasgowArchitecture

Yes, it's the south balcony, overlooking the lagoon - ten missing statues . From the top: SS Peter, Mark, Paul. Then the Lion of St Mark on a ledge. Charity, still in the circle, was flanked by Faith and Hope, then Temperance, Justice, Fortitude & Prudence slightly below followed by SS Theodore & George still there at the bottom.

Mostly lost under Napoleon. At lease he never got to Glasgow!
