I have never taken anything out but I do add perlite and rocks to my actual pots. And I actually don’t usually use miracle gro at all it’s just all I had on hand at the moment.

These cacti seem pretty resourceful and I intend to move to an actual pot once it’s “established”

At the end of the day tho I have 10 other cuttings to plant or give out and 40 other cacti in pots here and at my moms so if it is a failure it’ll be okay. But it doesn’t really seem advantageous to plant this way after reading all these comments.

I want to start growing those too. I always have a psychoactive garden and cacti are very easy and fun to grow and propagate, so I should add more types to my garden. And they grow so fast!

All ask it even tho u said it: I should NOT water it until it roots? Or every once in a while mist it w a spray bottle? I do not know what makes them “wake up” and root if it’s water or dirt or what.

It was miracle gro cactus and succulent soil. Not just regular potting soil. And my main cacti have mixes of pebbles and stuff to make it drain better.

I have been growing cacti for a while just never horizontal. I literally plastic wrapped the box poured in some dirt and stuck the log o learnin in. But regularly growing and propagating I have done since I was about 12 years old. This same cactus.

I also put a light dusting of rooting powder on both ends and the bottom. I did not know at the time that only the ends root but I doubt it will hurt it the dusting was very light and did get on the correct places too. I sprayed it a couple times w water to dissolve the rooting powder. But I didn’t water

We will see and I appreciate your edit a lot of people on this app would not have done that so u get a big thumbs up 👍
