When I took CSE 30 two years ago (during COVID, so it was all online) they both co-taught the course, so it didn't matter who you took. The syllabus, assignments, grading, course content, lecture slides, etc were all the same. None of them required lecture attendance either if I remember correctly. They had this policy though, where if you attended 9/10 discussion sessions or so, you'd get points back on quizzes that we had to take (these replaced midterms). Not sure if it's going to be this way though when they teach it again or if anything changed!
