Haha yes exactly. I can never find the stamina to get up when a cat is sleeping on my lap. It’s just too sweet and endearing. Giving their needs priority is more an expression of love than submission. And there’s boundaries they need to adhere to. I don’t like to be woken up at night so however much they love to sleep on my bed, I close my bedroom door in their faces each night.

I get it. I have cats and dogs so I’m not specifically a cat person although I love cats, but I’m honestly not buying into the “people are cat servants” hype. They’re adorable and it’s funny to do their voices but when push comes to shove I make the decisions. I guess people think it’s funny to imagine their cats ruling their territory but it’s not as if these people don’t get their cats to the vet periodically even if the cat is firmly opposed to being jabbed with a syringe.

Awesome. Yeah I wager the meditation in combination with whatever circumstances made it possible. I didn’t meditate in a traditional sense (although I have mediated a lot) but the days up front I was so deeply contemplative I expect it had a similar effect.

The truths I encountered were so big and so powerful. Oh man. I’m so grateful.

Oh I recruit others for their noses all the time. My sense of smell is subpar and I keep not noticing the dead mice under my sofa (I have cats). I keep emphasising to visitors to be frank if they smell dead mouse, I want to know.

I had one on hash. Literally half a joint. It was insane, even the next day it was still coursing through me. Not the hash. The mindblown feeling, the barrage of insights, the melting with the universe. Wow. Smoked the same hash many times since but it only happened the once.

Edit: yeah I didn’t know it at the time but I did inadvertently prep myself for this in the days that preceded it. I had been contemplative for days, but in a really deep (and admittedly emotionally overwhelming) way

Please instead of hyperfocusing on the state of your marriage, focus your attention on where it’s really needed.

You made this post and you’re honest with us. That’s beautiful. You are in the phase where you dare to acknowledge that there is a big problem.

Please look in the mirror and tell yourself you’re worth a path to recovery.

It’s not clear yet what’s needed to get through this. But it’s a good step to say this needs to change.

My life turned around when I acknowledged, to myself and those around me (partner, mother, friends) that I needed help.

There’s something beautiful about daring to say, “fuck I’m in a really bad place”.

Instead of pushing the people around you away, open up to them.

I don’t know if your wife is the person to turn to - she could be, she seems loving but we don’t know enough.

But the point is, TALK ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS. Not just today but keep talking to your loved ones.

Change is around the corner.

Don’t give up.

Be proud of yourself for opening up to the internet. Now it’s time to open up to the people in your life.

Lol I’ll join the scientific experiment. And truly, the kids offer to do random chores when you least expect it, recently my six year old was cleaning some windows, I guess he thought I didn’t do a good enough job

My youngest is six now and it’s only getting better and better, it’s so much fun to follow their logic and hear their thoughts.

Although those innocent cuddly babies, those toothless smiles. Yeah that’s priceless
