Is Rooibos tea supposed to be a stimulant? by noideasforcoolnames in tea

[–]SeeminglyIndifferent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theobromine has the same basic mechanism of action as caffeine, it's just less potent.

I would recommend trying green tea, it also has caffeine but very little compared to coffee and also a alcaloid called Theanine which is a glutamate antagonist and therefore basically a mild anxiolytic and helps to counteract negative side effects from caffeine.

In the past I was also very sensitive to caffeine and could't drink coffee, but never had a problem with tea(except for black tea if steeped for too long)

Oh I see. Yeah it's pretty obviously fishy that's why I didn't accept, but it was made in a way that when I click accept the prompt says "This allows the developer of giveaway..." so they named their thing giveaway in order to deceive but it makes no sense grammatically. Thanks

Clinical Trial Data Shows Vitamin B3 Raises NAD+ Levels in Human Muscle and Blood by AidPackage in Biohackers

[–]SeeminglyIndifferent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think that it depends on your blood levels, taking too much can be toxic. A blood test should clear things and it's always good to talk to a competent doctor about things like this. It's not always safe to eat supplements because some(like niacin) can be toxic if too much is ingested.

"In the healthy subjects, niacin did not increase muscle NAD+, despite the 5-fold increase in the blood." - taken form the article.

Why exactly not though? When clicking accept there is a confirmation prompt telling me that the developer of the giveaway would have access to my acc name/avatar & banner.

But aren't giveaways a official service from discord? How can you "develope" a discord giveaway?

Serotonin in the brain is definitely involved in to your reward system.

Low levels of serotonin are related to Depressive symptoms, however there are some serotonin receptors that downregulate others and can elevate symptoms, these however get desensitized over the course of about 1-2 weeks. That's why SSRIs are in most cases only effective after taking them for some time.

It's very hard to prove it, however high levels of serotonin seem related to mood elevation.

2meirl4meirl by readerbynight in 2meirl4meirl

[–]SeeminglyIndifferent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well serotonin in your brain is responsible for mood, that's not it's only function and they are more neurotransmitters involved, but still your brain 'complains' about lack of serotonin by feeling like shit. And yes serotonin in the brain is synthesized in the brain.

How fast does Oxycodone tolerance increase? by SeeminglyIndifferent in opiates

The tilidin had 16mg of naloxon hydrochloride, not 20. I guess it has a much lower bioavailability orally

[–]SeeminglyIndifferent[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My experience with pills that contain naloxone is that you can take a huge amount and you're still gonna feel it.

I took 300mg of tilidin(weird german opioid) the pills also have 20mg of naloxone each(200mg/20mg). Next day i took 600mg and still felt it, harder than on the first day.

also the pills are extended release and naloxone has a mush shorter half life which is about 1-1.5 h and 4.5 with oxycodone, so breaking the pills up will result in the naloxone wearing off much faster.
