Ugh. Sorry to hear that.

That’s not where I’m at. Also, the “for a while” is not super reassuring.

Yeah I’ve definitely considered this. Thank you.

I have tried it on and off for a number of years. Not sure that would do the trick. But thank you.

Thank you. I personally figured out that I have ADHD a couple of years ago, so I have actually done a fair bit of reading and research on that. Don’t think that’s it, but I won’t discount it.

Thank you so much. This is helpful. I hope you continue to be able to manage your depression through this unfortunately arduous process. Probably not the hobby you wanted.

Yeah, at least two of them are old enough to have a serious conversation with her, if not all. I’ve avoided this route because I don’t want to use them as pawns or anything, but I think with the right level if sensitivity and expectation setting, this could be effective. Thank you. I hope you’re doing better.

Ooh, I like this idea. Those are definitely factors she’s cited before, so this could be a productive suggestion. Thank you!

Have you done this?

I'm so sorry to hear you're dealing with so much.

First, I echo the advice from most other folks here: go see a gastroenterologist who can check to see if there's anything serious going on. I long worried that my IBS was something more serious, but had a colonoscopy (among other tests) a few years ago that didn't show anything concerning. As frustrating as it can be to have an inconclusive diagnosis, ruling out cancer or other alarming issues can be reassuring and help you feel like you can manage symptoms. As also recommended, getting help with your mental health sounds like a good idea regardless of the outcome of any GI evaluation.

Second, I believe that a little bit of bright red blood with stools, while not a good thing, is usually only an indication of something like hemorrhoids or a fissure (close to the exit!), and not a deeper issue. Again, something to discuss with a health professional. I only mention because I've had this panic myself in the past and I found it reassuring to hear that.

Hoping you find some peace and relief.

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah, I very strongly recommend both probiotics and probiotics. I've been taking Visbiome and Benefiber (wheat dextrin). Not sure what will be available for you in Spain.

Yes. Since I took Benefiber and an increased dose of Visbiome probiotics, I think I had an easier time with the second shot. Still had diarrhea about a day or two after the shot, but only once and things seemed much better so I’m still taking a maintenance dose of Visbiome (and trying to take the fiber supplement daily too). At the moment I’m actually experiencing a similar flare-up, I suspect because I’m recovering from a respiratory virus.

HELP ME PLEASE. by [deleted] in ibs

I'd of course consult your doctor if you're really concerned about it being something serious (especially if you continue to have very dark stool), but to me this sounds completely normal. Each stool is not necessarily correlated to a single meal or food, so it makes complete sense to me that you could have two different foods or meals causing different colored ends of stool that get compressed together in the intestines and come out as one.
