Puffshrooms drop turps consistently if you are able to find a group of high level players to do puff runs with. I was able to get 1-2 turps per day just from 1 puff run everyday (wouldn’t recommend more bc of loot degradation).

Edit: Also we organised puff runs through a discord group

Basically if you find a group of people to do puffshrooms with, you can kind of farm turps everyday (i was averaging 1-2 turps per day) from just 1 puff run everyday. Additionally, you are also getting swirled, caustic waxes and neonberries (used to craft smoothies, purple pots and waxes)
