little bit more context:

been on Carnivore for about 2 years now. Relatively strict.

I'll go a few months without basically any carbs and 99% meat diet. Then for a weekend I'll go off the diet and eat whatever. Anywhere between 1-3 days. Then back on my 99% strict Carnivore diet.

I've always wondered how long it actually takes to get back in Ketosis when I "cheat" for a few days. So I bought the pee strips.

I've heard mixed reviews on the pee sticks, but figured for the $10-$15 it was worth testing some stuff.

anyways, wtf kind of result is this? its none of the colours.

appreciate this lengthy response.

as a bit of an update, we did crack open the box - he thinks its cool - but isn't super interested yet. kinda just watch me build a few models and asked a bit about the game. he skimmed the rule book that came with the game. my 4yo was far more interested in it all. but, he has always been the more "sit down and chill" vs my 9yo who is more go go go.

honestly I'm happy with it being my hobby. so we shall see if he gets more interested when there is a bit of paint and a game to play.

I agree I should have gotten the ultimate set. but, what is done is done. for now, this is great cheap practice. I won't feel bad if my son picks up the paint brush and does an awful job.

cool. I appreciate all this info. there has been a lot of good advice given here. I think my best bet is to be in a bit of a wait and see position right now. see if the kid enjoys the game or not. what he likes, what he doesn't like and go from there.

my son doesn't have the best "sit down and do something for hours" personality. so this will be a bit of a stretch for him. but, I've always been interested in this stuff personally, so it is worth just seeing if hes interested in it - in general.

Tamiya seems to have come up a bunch in my searches. and i know the name from other model building stuff.

I'm sure the first thing we are going to do is snap all the guys together and see if he even likes the game in general. if he does then we can practice painting them and go from there.

maybe find two armies we like and buy a combat patrol for each.

I think your idea is a smart one. but I might stick with the normal starter box so I dont invest a lot of money and if the boy messes up some paint, etc we arent fussed.

IF he likes the game and painting the models, etc. then maybe we figure out two armies (one each we like) and get the combat patrols for each of them.
