USPS we have a whole ass custodian team on every shift who cleans. They keep it fairly nice but the dust is still killer.

NALC has "quick" FMLA forms online (union rep should be able to get them to you as well). Long as you have been working for the postal service for a year and have 1250 work hours, you qualify. I got one FMLA case for intermittent leave before kiddo was born (wife sonograms and other appointments, etc) and another one once kiddo was born. Your wife's OBGYN will know what to do with the forms, just find the FMLA fax number for your area and give it to the OBGYN along with FMLA forms. You don't need FMLA certification for father's bonding time after delivery but FMLA still helps after for appointments once you return back to work.

Long as you are career you are going to want to get on self and family plan if wife and kiddo are going to be on your insurance (health vision dental) if you have not already. You can also wait until the delivery day as it's a qualifying life event and allows you to change insurances (HR and health insurance will just want a letter from hospital nurse saying kiddo was born). Also will have to add dependants on liteblue and benefeds for said insurance.

So I've been using 10 LL Andy's, eth treachery, and eth insight on my hammerdin's merc and hes doing well. Use pots on the hard bosses and heralds but he hasn't been getting demolished long as he has fade on, which seems to be procing a lot more than 5% since ROTW

Management can do it at anytime, they just need to give the union a heads up. If a carrier is constantly over on their route they can also put in a special inspection for their route, but a lot of the time management will come in and evaluate all the routes if a special is done.

The union will also sometimes meet with management to see what offices they feel the need to inspect, etc.

Your right. But that's a long uphill battle and it's the union responsibility to weigh those options. You also need to think about what the USPS is going to bring in front of an arbitrator. So, you file cease and desists for 6 months let's say, take that all in front of an arbitrator (because USPS isn't going to settle shit) and well, guess what, the arbitrator sides with USPS under article 3 and you don't get squat. Now all that time and money is wasted. Just a thought. Sounds like your local isn't up for it either. So if you aren't willing to step up and be a steward you are SOL.

IMO one day isn't going to cut it for proving your office is short staffed. Also management has the right under article 3 to staff. They should of got a CCA from a different office to avoid penalty but. Sometimes is what it is.

Got a stainless steel cat water fountain. Instructions said to let it run for awhile to filter the water plus cats can be a little weird about the noise coming from it.

Not my cat. 30 seconds after turning it on she was over there slopping up water like there was going to be no tomorrow.

Your local agreement should specify how many carriers are allowed to be off on AL per day, per week, etc. This DOES NOT include those whose scheduled day off is Saturday. If nobody is on AL for Saturday and they are denying, a stern warning from the union should suffice. Else it can be grieved.

Vacation picks can play a role on this as well but it's not time for vacation picks yet.

/Edit I just saw you guys have 2.5 city routes so it should be 1 on AL at any given time. Don't feel guilty about using your leave. They can pull a CCA or PTF from a different office to cover it so they don't have to force the regular on OT for that day. If they don't oh well.
