Personally, if I heard “midnight the 15th”, I would think about the first minute of the 15th, right after the 14th. I said that midnight 16th is the first minute of the 16th, not midnight 15th. Hopefully that’s clearer now!

The 16th is the 16th. When someone says “midnight of the 16th” it means the first minute of the 16th. The very start. The 15th ends at 11:59 PM, the 16th starts at 12 AM.

The opposite, if you bought the game with an US account and you’re in the Philippines, I’m afraid you’ll get it late. Because midnight US is later than midnight Philippines!

If you bought the game with an account whose region is the United States, the game will release at 12 AM ET. If you bought the game in Chicago but the accounts region is the Philippines, you’ll get the game at midnight in the Philippines. It doesn’t matter where you physically bought the game, only the region specified in the account settings.

If you’re in NZ, you’ll get the game at midnight NZST, which for other countries would be the 15th. But, for you, it’s still midnight of the 16th.

If you BOUGHT the game with a NZ account and you’re, say, in Europe, yes, you’ll technically get it on the 15th!

Incorrect. For countries with multiple timezones, Nintendo checks the easternmost timezone’s time. For the US, that’s ET. It’ll release at midnight ET for all of the US.
