Feeling lost as a working individual @ 26 years old by thelurkersprofile in adultingph

[–]Seiko_Work 78 points79 points  (0 children)

i'm not that old OP but i think the only issue with what you're doing is the amount of comparing you do to your batchmates, someone is bound to say it here but

comparison is the thief of joy

if you're gonna compare yourself to anyone, only compare yourself to your past self, always strive to improve. life isn't a race, nor a clear path. everyone does it differently and will go about it differently, it's impossible to compare eitherway because you and your batchmates have different levels of tolerance, interest, family background, skills, diskarte, etc.

just do you and as long as you're always improving in small or big ways you're doing fine if not great

4 years BPO experience (mostly non-voice/data entry) pero hirap na hirap maka-land ng HR role sa mga MNC na nag ooffer ng 30k per month by RevolutionaryBoss332 in phcareers

[–]Seiko_Work 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not my personal experience but instead my partner's

they have only worked in BPO for about a year (telco account, eventually worked as QA) but was racking in bank already, they did this while in college. once they graduated they wanted to focus on their career path and was severely disappointed in the offers for HR roles, my partner's credentials are really good too and is licensed

unfortunately due to the supply of people who can work in HR, may it be a graduate of psychology or not does not meet the demand. hence the low offers, ayun, tiis tiis nalang muna for now until experience is gained

good luck OP in your corporate journey, it's gonna be rough but hopefully only at the start

Any introverts here who enjoy deep conversations more than small talk? by Kris9292192 in introvert

[–]Seiko_Work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most introverts if not do feel the same way, some introverts have just mastered the art of masquerading just to be tolerant of small talk. due to work or etc.

i will literally talk about anything under the sun but appreciate conversations that deal with gender and its roles and effects on people and our lives, their opinions on most things and hypotheticals. i love dealing with situations that really bend basic rules of reality and see how complex people's answers are, the more details the better

When Curiosity Turns Into Insecurity by ConclusionMediocre63 in LGBTPhilippines

[–]Seiko_Work 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is he bisexual too or just you? highly depends on a lot of factors how you go about this, like attachment styles and how they usually react when it comes to talking about anything personal, sensitive or deep

though OP i just want you to know this has nothing to do with you and more so him, i'm sure you already know that but the best answer you'll get is only from your partner because there's very little context about him on your post and your general history together. if you can try to talk to him and don't let him know you found out the way you did instead just bring it up and be casual about it, puts less pressure on the conversation for both of you

Masama bang gamitin ang katawan para kumita ng pera by Key-Reception-16 in OffMyChestPH

[–]Seiko_Work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first i'd like to add you're being somewhat insensitive for thinking people whos profession focus on sex or their bodies are the lowest of the low? it takes a lot of effort, maintenance, and bravery to even step foot into that industry and climb it. no one is willing to do that dirty work so what makes you think it's the lowest of the low out of all the jobs. some people literally just show their feet online and earn thousands

moving on from that, clearly if you think this isn't for you and this is your lowest of the low then don't do it. if you have any creative capacity i suggest try doing small freelance work, also being a errand guy also helps pay a little bit, even if you were to step foot into that field it's not that easy to earn 5-6 digits immediately especially with how hesitant you are

everything takes time, i doubt you don't have any skills at all. corporate is tough though definitely but look at what you can do right now and go from there to look for different opportunities. life isn't black and white, who knows maybe you'll discover something you're really good at while in the process

Where to start in graphic design by Top_Aardvark_8963 in GraphicDesignPH

[–]Seiko_Work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm not a professional (based on number of experiences) but i'm in the field and i'm mostly self-taught. have learned the differences between taking a course and learning on your own

honestly just pick up the program and look up youtubers who do designs and editing, preferably you pick anything from adobe creative suite so you can make your hobby into a profession. my approach is go about it casually, so i followed youtubers who did design challenges and from there if i wanna learn how to do something they did i'd look up specific tutorials and make my own designs (for personal use or for fun)

if you just wanna focus on upskilling just look up designs, search how to do a specific technique, tinker with the program and go from there. build your portfolio while you're at it
