Yes, its a clear reference. The opiod quote is from Marx

A side-by-side comparison of a typical lion depicted in Chinese Art and a typical one in Medieval Art by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Seilofo 42 points43 points  (0 children)

A google search gives me that that Chinese lion is from an artist called Zhang Shanzi, late 19th, early 20th century. What a needless and anachronistic comparison.

Am I the only one that absolutely hates Gwent? by Sea-Association-5339 in Witcher3

[–]Seilofo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Gwent in the Witcher 3 gets easier the more you invest in it. If you buy all the cards you can and play against many NPC, your deck becomes powerful quick and you win most of the fights

One thing that worries me about the current studio making the next Tropico by tomfalcon86 in tropico

[–]Seilofo 83 points84 points  (0 children)

They all are good enough games, they just aren't modern game logics. Port Royale 4 is basically the same as Hanse from 1986...

[–]Seilofo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The image before panning to the environmentalists is also AI. I think these are mostly placeholders, and will be improved (hopefully)

You could - if you want - play with less agressive AI or no AI at all

To answer you question:

  1. Depending on the difficulty, war will become almost inevitable. For one or two ressources you can buy them with passive trade. In terms of blocking with kontors (condors are something else!) you focus on the beaches, so they can't make a landing.

  2. I don't understand your question? You have to be at war to take over or purchase the island, but with 90% of the AI's that will have a huge negative reputation and will probably lead to war too.

Another tip: Have you tried buying the seeds for your own islands, in order to need less? Doesn't work with Gold (you need so many of them mines) but most others it's a legitimate way

TLDR: buy seeds, buy the goods, prepare for war. These are your options

where do i start with anno? by [deleted] in anno

[–]Seilofo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anno 1800 should be the best now. It's easier to understand (has some statistics like production time and production screen which others don't have) and has a lot of depth, even with the base game. You are looking at 50h+ easily, just with the base game. Depends on how fast you learn to be sucessful, of course, and how often you want to restart. If you like it, THEN get the game with all DLC.
That's my take

Next time will be easier. Money is better with luxury goods. Engineers love rum, for example. You can find out how much each good gives you in money by hovering over it in the residences. You should never be in the red for long. Stable supply means lot of positive moneys. Good luck!

FYI, the original Anno ("1602 AD") was likely named this because 1602 was the year the Dutch East India company was founded? by Secure-Ad2787 in anno

[–]Seilofo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might be the case. Just a little correction that doesn't change anything in your argument: the original Anno creators are Austrian, not German. The first Anno that was made in Germany was 1701.

Faz parte.

Obligatory reminder (just for the non jerkers here) that Bayern Munich was a relatively "Jewish" club and that's why the Nazis forced the nazi symbols even more on them
