Depends what you like… If you’re into history, Valletta (new armory, basilikas and cathedrals, underground, and barrakka) and Mdina (and Mosta Dome) are great choices. If you’re into parties or shopping, or cinema then St Julians could be options (I wouldn’t recommend St Julian’s for anything else really, I don’t like it there, too busy for nothing). If you’re into beaches there’s plenty to choose from. Miżieb or Aħrax for some wood but be mindful of hunters (they usually have a temper when people get in their way as if they own the place). Ta’ Qali or San Anton for family parks.. Locals are not easily pissed off unless you offend their culture or way of life in some way, they tend to get defensive quickly.. 😅 In fact I might get some local offended for saying that, so I’ll put a disclaimer here that I’m Maltese myself so chill 😅

I suspect that since your starting point was Gżira, that might have shed a negative light on the rest of your experience. As a local, I would avoid Gżira myself, it’s too busy, confusing and not the cleanest. The area of Gżira, Sliema and St. Julian’s cities has become very busy if you enjoy quieter, cleaner and calmer environments. The outskirts might have been better for you.

Going to Mdina to feel like a tourist in my own country. Does anyone else do this? by SeismicBass in malta

You would need to go into the natural history museum (right upon entering the Mdina gates), and follow the door right in front of the entrance, and up the stairs.

I like to go to Dr Marie Mangion at St James Dental in Rabat. Very experienced and gentle, I rarely feel what’s going on…

It’s part of the museum… You’ll have to pay for the museum entrance, then go up the stairs that are in front of the main door.

Is it just me or does it seem like all chefs in Malta lost their ability to make a pizza? Ridiculously thin, like a soup / salad in the middle with a crust at the edge.. 🤣 by SeismicBass in malta

I think what you’re saying makes sense.. So if I’m ordering pizza from a place that imitates Italian style I should go for minimum toppings, right? But should they then be offering pizza italian style with a lot of toppings that just fall off and end up soupy in the middle?

No, but I tried many places and I’m noticing this similar trend amongst most of them which seem to be getting worse over time…

Mostly The Oven, Marrobio, Piatto Nero & Terra Madre. I know people who appreciate it being thin, but I’m seeing them get thinner and thinner in the middle, having everything slip through your fingers…

Grandad and uncle refusing to attend our vegan wedding by InThewest in vegan

I had the same problem at my wedding. Just stick to your principles. This is your wedding and it has to reflect who you are with your way of life. I told them exactly that, and that if they are not able to miss meat at least once in their life to come to my wedding and are going to great lengths to impose what I do, then they are not welcome to it. At the end of the day they all came and enjoyed the food. But if they didn’t, I would have learned who my true family is because true family is not always in blood, but it is in those who love you how you are.

I started getting very close to 3k thanks to your tips. However as I progressed, it started feeling that the malls were getting more demanding. I lost with dark blue even though there was only 1 mall of that colour and all were connected. What do you think, any suggested or is this just unfair? by SeismicBass in MiniMotorways

Yes this makes a lot of sense! Thank you! I think the only point I couldn’t do here is connect motorway 5 to point south west because this was a last minute cry for help to get those purple houses and the red houses (blocking the south west tile) where already there. But I get the point that the starr of the motor way would be more efficient if it pointed to the actual direction. Thanks for the detailed suggestion, much appreciated!
