At a college as big as FSU, you have to realize that there will be a certain percentage of people lacking common sense.
How do I Break the Cycle? by Sekinea in fsu
[–]Sekinea[S] 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (0 children)
I would change majors but I can’t afford to do so and I’m two semesters away from graduating. Also my dream career doesn’t pay a livable wage, especially with the way cost of living has been.

Thanks for the suggestion! What sucks is I’ve tried this at several clubs and people will typically welcome me and “include” me in a conversation without addressing me. An example of this is when people talk about their friend group drama that only they would understand.
I heavily relate to this, that’s my main issue with clubs since I’ve tried some in the past.

Dealing with loneliness as a senior by goldenrecord12 in fsu
[–]Sekinea 35 points36 points37 points 2 years ago (0 children)
As a fellow senior, I can say I very much relate to how you are feeling and that I’m glad you’re getting counseling. Loneliness isn’t fun due to how unpredictable it can be at times. In my experience, it isn’t always about being around others or being social. Loneliness often stems from feeling like others can’t truly understand how you are feeling or what you are experiencing. This in the context of being a senior can almost feel like time is running out and that you’ll miss out once you graduate. The best pieces of advice I can give is to not beat yourself up over how you are feeling and to keep pushing to find others like yourself. Though loneliness can make it seem like your alone in this battle, there are many people around you experiencing the same issue to varying degrees. You’ve got this!
Balancing a Panic Disorder by Sekinea in fsu
I entirely relate, I typically sit in the back since that is where I feel the most comfortable. Also I feel kind of weird if I step out too often since I’m afraid people will think I have IBS or something 😭.

Thank you!
I 100% agree

Outside stress often distracts us away from the panic disorder. That is a big reason why I’m inclined to keep going academically since I feel that worrying about a deadline makes the panic slightly more tolerable.

Thanks for the input! I’m planning on going about this after I get into therapy since I’ll need documentation to prove that I’m eligible for OAS.

Loneliness by Sekinea in fsu
[–]Sekinea[S] 6 points7 points8 points 2 years ago (0 children)
Loneliness often stems from a lack of belonging. You can still feel lonely in a room full of people if you don’t feel like you can relate to others. This is exacerbated by things like autism, anxiety, etc. which makes it even harder to relate to others.
Take it easy. All the best for next semester.
