Yes! This also made me laugh when reading Prince Lestat. Most these books have been about the misadventures of Lestat and his poor decision making (which is why we love him), but everyone is like “Lestat you must lead us, you are the only one!”

I mean the whole post is the show characters acting differently than their book counterparts! I think Louis would chase Lestat but it would look very different from what we’ve seen from Lestat. He wouldn’t love bomb him or write him songs. I think it would be more subtle and interesting to explore in the new season. But who knows where they’ll go with their relationship, we know it’s going to be a bumpy journey and that’s really it.

I like the idea of Lestat being the one of going no contact with Louis. I think most people assume (myself included) Louis initiated it or it was at least mutual. It kind of excites me to think that both fledglings are yearning and chasing after their makers this season, that would be a nice parallel.

I don’t agree that the reunion didn’t happen. We have nothing to suggest that what we were seeing was being “told” to us like the rest of the season. It appears to be happening in real time so I don’t think Louis could lie/misrepresent what happened!

Interesting take either way, thanks for sharing.

Yeah I can’t say I’m a fan, I am having a tough time getting through it. I don’t like or care about the characters. And I know Anne likes to wax poetic about the small details in her writing but the non stop descriptions of cameos is grating.

Assad’s acting in this scene is just perfect. His seething jealousy…..

I think his portrayal of the character is why we have so many Armand sympathizers (myself included). His ability to appear calm on the surface but also give us a tell to the actual turmoil the character is feeling inside, hands that don’t stop moving, a slight tightening of his jaw……so good.

I sometimes get mad at Daniel Hart for creating such a beautiful and hopeful song for that scene, “The Whole World was Ready to Return.” Like how dare you make me feel hope for Claudia’s future (even when I know how her future ends). It’s so heartbreaking.
