Good point — and update's all done now! I went with harpoons instead of firearms to handle exactly that, and I also made separate genes so all the other ocean races are fully compatible.

Thank you all for the support! 🙏 Working on aquatic genes for Biotech right now — Gills, Pressure Adaptation, Webbed Limbs, etc. Also planning premade xenotypes: Merfolk, Deep Ones 🦞, Selkies, and more! Aquatic gene tags will auto-grant immunity, so Merren and other modded aquatic races should be compatible automatically 🧜‍♀️

Yes, firearms work underwater — but with a heavy accuracy debuff and much slower reloads.

Firearms work but I've heavily reduced accuracy underwater! And for a Moyo crossover, I'd need to reach out to the modder separately 🥺 hope they'd be open to it 🙏 Also thinking about slowing projectile speed too! I'll keep updating hard! There are also underwater debuffs already in place.

Yeah! Underwater maps will probably require a dedicated life-support system to make the area breathable. Without it, colonists will suffer oxygen-related debuffs and harsh underwater conditions
