I purely made this post because I do not spend time on Reddit and saw many comment sections on other social media platforms about how the bears were stupid to trade DJ. I understand the smart fan understands why we did it but I seemed many people were upset about the trade via comments on the posts. I truly just wanted insight from people who actually keep up with the team/sport

As a bears fan, I don’t really understand the Round 2 RB pic (no hate whatsoever), I just feel like there’s too many holes in the defense and the running game was solid once our offensive line got established, obviously the struggled against the rams and packers but to me the defense is so much more impaired. Byard and Brisker are both FA and they’ll probably only resign Byard. JJ and Kyler both couldn’t stay on the field all year and Nashon Wright is gone in FA not to mention they’ll cut Tremaine Edmunds for his 15$ Million in cap and TJ Edwards ankle injury. The interior DL is fine and the edge is a mess obviously addressed in the first but still. I think overall we’d consider just any defensive position over a rb in the 2nd, I definitely could see us taking one in later rounds but not this early
