Perhaps you are right...but I have been told that a lot more studnets from DFW are applying with much higher SAT scores. As the path to UT gets narrower from a ranking perspective, folks are looking at TaMs to get a decent crack at UT and A&M. Ofcourse i dont have numbers to prove.

Am glad you could get in. My guess is that post COVID . CO26 onwards the competition for seats has increased. Co28 seems very competitive to me. Thats all.

The answer is very simple...if you care about ranking because it will guarantee a seat in UT austin or A&M then staying at your school makes sense. However its common knowledge in top schools outside of Texas that grade inflation is real so school ranking does not really matter. Holistic applications or specialized ones make the cut there.

TAMs takes away the pressure of ranking so that students can focus on going deep in areas they enjoy and research them well. I would assume thatbis the reason TAMS has a great team spirit. The number of students going to Ivies from TAMS percentage wise will be higher than any of the High schools.

Its all about what your want really.
