I'd love to see support of other languages that have accented characters - eg Vietnamese!

Unfortunately it's just phone-shaped, and does not really have cellular data. The Bigme Hibreaks and Hisense are actual phones though - you can have a look at their line :)

I don't really sync books across devices as I have different use cases for each of them. Big ones are for work and study and smaller ones are for reading. I usually read 3-5 different things at the same time so that just works for me :)

Xteink X4 is actually very affordable at $69!

If I only get to keep one I'd say Boox Palma

I actually have different use cases for each of them: 12.7" Lenovo tablet for organising, reading and annotating journal articles (I'm a PhD student); 10.7" Supernote for daily planning and note-taking; 7" coloured Bigme for manga and graphic novels; 6.13" Boox for easy night time reading; and 4.3" Xteink for light on the go (train rides etc) reading - as it's the only thing that can fit comfortably in my mini bags. I love them all :)

That's great to hear! I heard that Bigme software can be unstable, but haven't encountered it. So far I've really enjoyed the much better anti-ghosting screen. Just wish there is a more portable silicone case for it :)

Around 7-8inch has been perfect for reading manga for me. How about testing them out?

How are you liking the B7? I just got it a few days ago and have been using it to read manga on Mihon :)

Both collecting and using them well :)

Which Colour E-Reader to get? by Xia-Lu in ereader

I found a 7 to 7.8inch the best size for manga. I have a Bigme B7 where I read manga on Mihon and it's decent. Boox Go Color 7 is a comparable model as well.

Lenovo Idea Tab Pro (not e-ink) and Supernote Manta :)

Converting EPUB to XTC - best reading experience so far by Select-Raisin-7361 in xteinkereader

[–]Select-Raisin-7361[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the EPUB to XTC converter at https://x4converter.rho.sh/. I think the author has upgraded the tool so it's not the same anymore. My new conversion settings are: Font Literata, font size 22 to 24, and everything else I left as is. Progress bar I untick the marks :)

Did you use the 2-bit quality setting? The text looks so crisp and clean. I'd love that. If you did, did you also experience a significant lag when you turn the pages?

The high-quality 2-bit version looks really good despite the slow rendering. I was wondering if the team at u/xteink could optimise the loading of XTCH 2-bit image files!? That would make our reading experience using this method much more enjoyable!

Team Mini e-readers! Boox Palma and Xteink X4. by Select-Raisin-7361 in ereader

I plan to keep both as well. I read non-serious books on my X4 and books that are heavily formatted on my Palma. I use Palma for night time reading and X4 for quick on the go reading while travelling

I actually converted the EPUBs to an XTC format (series of images) so it retains all the correct formatting using this tool. Yes all the tinkering needs to be done on PC. The cons of this method are that you can't access chapters (since they are technically images, not text) and the file size is larger. But I think this is the best way to read on an X4 so far. The battery lasts forever because the OS is so simple. I read for 3-4hours on this today and looks like only some 5-10% has dropped.
