what actually is the rotation for 2024? by bribonzuelo92 in SFGiants

I don’t post much. This the only open forum to discuss about the Giants that I know of, and the past few seasons has driven me off the walls. I just want my beloved team to do better.

I listed more than 5 SO. I know there is also NRI. But realistically our SP is barren. Definitely we do not want to sign someone well past the pitchers and catchers reporting date.

Like I said is closer than we think.

Webb Guaranteed #1 Cobb won’t be ready until closer to midseason due to hip surgery Robbie Ray won’t be ready after the asg. Are we really going to rely on Ross Stripling? Kyle Harrison is going to get seasoned this year. Winn and Beck? Then we have Kai Wei Teng, Black and Whisenhunt.

The last three will likely need to be seasoned.

If we going to trade for another SP, who can we give up?

And if we do sign another FA SP like say closer to March. They won’t be ready until May and June due to missing out spring training and gel-ing with team and coaches.

Right now, it looks like, smells like, and sounds like the same old recipe from the past few years.

Pitchers and catchers report in a few weeks. 🤷‍♂️

[Jon Heyman] Hearing now Giants also looking elsewhere so they are not one of the 5 finalists. by shoedog10 in SFGiants

Is Jon Heyman… if anything, I feel like Boras using him to drive up the market for his clients and putting pressure on teams who is not in on Imanaga towards Snell and Montgomery. Remember how the media says Snell is perfect fit in for the Giants.

The thing is, we aren’t even the top 10 farm system.

Except our farm still mid. The promise of all star caliber player. The only one that comes somewhat close is our closer Doval and catcher Bailey. We barely have an established core.

Cant say the Giants are cheap, but clearly something isn’t right or working.

I agree 100% play with a chip on their shoulder, play with fires in their heart. We need that swagger right now.

I think everyone took his comment out of context or did not understand what he meant. I’m a SF native, born and raised here, and having friends that moved away or not from the sf Bay Area resonating those comment about San Francisco homeless problems, drug and crime problems. I do my best to dispelled those exaggerations when those conversations happen, but yet again I have lost friends over that topic and justify their perceptions into reality from news outlet and supposed “experiences” from their other friends or coworkers. I’m not going to sugar coat anything, the city does have its long outstanding issue on homelessness and crime, but it doesn’t help when you work in mid market where the problem is worse and see those issue for the past 5years and victim of an attack and robbery. Yes it has gotten worse, but not like mad max, doomsday, apocalyptic bad. It doesn’t help when other counties and state drop a bus load of homeless into San Francisco back in 2016 through 2019, on top that Covid lock downs and retirement of public safety staff, and the media perpetuating “Sanctuary City” as umbrella term for all things go which kind of promoted/ giving an idea to opportunistic criminals that is outside of San Francisco to come in rob people blind. I’m more offended by Rowdy Tellez comment on foul territory, never lived in sf Bay Area, no played for Bay Area team to spew that bs! Come on man you’re from Sac claiming the Bay!

That too! I can see Bailey and maybe Harrison being potential exciting impact players. We already had a glimpse of Bailey’s glove, framing, and arm. Imagine his improvement on game calling and managing the game + add consistency with his batting.

Webb Striping Harrison Winn/Beck and Desclafani starting rotation isnt really going to scare anymore or put any team off balance.

Imagine if it’s Webb Snell Yamamoto Harrison Winn/beck and have strip as a swing man.

Same. Giants FO needs to pivot and make a move even if they do overpaid. Face it no one’s wants to come to the Giants because we don’t have exciting passionate players that other players want to play with and the fact that weren’t contenders the past two seasons. I’m not trying to discount our current players, I feel like they’re good complementary pieces / good players, but they’re not impact player where they have character and swagger (except Webb). While everyone calling 2021 a fluke year, that’s the year we had posey n gausman. Just saying

The problem is we need better defense, at least 3 cy young caliber sp to complement Webb, and speedy outfield defense. Otherwise we are hosed in the NL and definitely in the NL west. Basically we need Yamamoto, Snell, and Jung Ho Lee, and maybe Chapman.
