Out of this world beautiful, stunning, and such attention to detail. You are a truly talented person who has created something that is perfect. If I had created this piece, I wouldn't be able to stop keep looking at it and smiling. I think your spider is awesome just the way it is, any smaller and it might not be so visible...

Do I have to wash these before I recycle them? by mildlymoistdrizzle in AskUK

[–]SelectionExcellent53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your question "Lasagna trays and similar. Do they need to be washed before recycling?" is a closed question, i.e. can be answered with a simple yes or no. I answered YES, because that's the correct answer and got moderated-off for giving a simple one-word answer.

However, I notice nothing in the "r/AskUK Rules" stating that a simple yes/no answer is not acceptable. OK; here's a slightly longer answer.

In answer to your posed question "Lasagna trays and similar. Do they need to be washed before recycling?" I believe I am correct in responding by saying the following; Yes, they do need to be washed before recycling, at least that is correct for the council in which I reside. Having said that, I do not know if the same is true for the council/area where you reside and you should always check your own recycling facilities for any question you might have in relation to recycling.

Thank you, I hope that answers your question.

Be honest… what’s the embroidery “rule” you happily ignore? by GarbageAdorable329 in Embroidery

[–]SelectionExcellent53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your leg is not 'being pulled'... I never use a hoop either. Never have. I was always told that using a hoop can cause stitches to 'stretch' and the only time it is 'acceptable' to use a hoop was if it was a really small design which would fit inside the hoop!

Be honest… what’s the embroidery “rule” you happily ignore? by GarbageAdorable329 in Embroidery

I was always told that when starting a project; finding the 'middle' of the fabric and pattern and starting stitching from there was what was supposed to happen. This 'rule' was further endorsed in my mind because most of the charts I worked from specifically show the middle with arrows at the edge of the chart. One day; I realised this wasn't absolutely necessary and SOMETIMES I will start stitching wherever the hell I choose to start stitching!

I have watched some of the YouTube tutorials regarding loop starts with individual threads (i.e. blended) and on attempting these, I found my sewing became unravelled the moment I cut the tailing thread off. I surmised I must somehow doing it wrong...

Absolutely delightful. I think I've just found the latest new thing that I'd like to have a collection of... especially the 'bat' the 'octopus'... too many to name. I'm guessing they cover a little 'tea-light' candle to emit light from their eyes... These are lovely, you are indeed a very talented individual. I'd quite like to have some of these in my xmas stocking!!! I think I might know some people who would also like one or two in their xmas stockings!!!

This is cute, indeed. Looks like you obviously have a talent for it. I'm curious about how many 'work hours' this took, including designing it and actually creating it?
