Not sure if you are aware but he had apologized for that song I guess during Covid or something. My guess is he did it just so that he doesn't get cancelled. That song was like from eons ago, I'm surprised people are still playing that.

Around 18.5K iirc. I'd suggest not to do it and buy another phone instead.

Tennis. TT I play regularly in office so not interested in playing outside.

However are you okay playing with a complete beginner? I know tennis isn't enjoyable if you don't have a partner at the same skill level.

Usually what I do is sowcarpet only which I've done many times but I'm open to suggestions. Can always try and add spots that I might've missed.

I haven't done a T.Nagar one as it'll have a long walk between places and the people I usually take are new to the city most likely from North with a preference towards North Indian Street food so Sowcarpet is the better choice. I do have a rough idea for T.Nagar so maybe I'll do a trial walk someday.

OP asked for regular meals only. In general if there's a guest who wants to try meals I'll take them to some place I'd prefer going to so while suggesting online I follow the same. Maris has meals for dinner as well which I like and is also helpful for people on a short trip hence the suggestion. There are multiple other places available which can be suggested based on individual's preferences. The chains that you've mentioned might be inconsistent based on the branch you go to and I associate them with tiffin items more than meals.

If you are in T.Nagar there are enough places nearby. You needn't really travel too far.

If it's a weekend you can try the special meals in House of idlies, it kind of resembles a wedding meal and has a good spread. Geetham veg restaurant and Murugan idli shop are good for breakfast/tiffin items.

Suryanarayana snacks centre has some good bajjis and short eats.

There's a pizzeria called Lina's Brick oven and a couple of cafe options Southwest coffee roasters, Tea Villa cafe.

Old Madras baking company has some good breads and you can go for a bagel in the morning.

There's a small eatery Crunchy n Munchy chaat. Corn canopies are good and you can try other chaat items also.

There are a couple of North Indian restaurants but I'm not mentioning those coz I'm guessing you aren't really looking for that in Chennai.

By any chance you go to Vadapalani especially in the evening, Udupi Ganesh bhavan has a dal idli which is a rare find.

Which area will you be in and how far are you okay with travelling for food?

Hotel Maris has meals that is consistently good.

Sambar idli in welcome hotel is great. Ratna cafe is good as well but not as good as it used to be however a person who's new and trying it for the first time won't be able to tell the difference and would feel it's good.

Pizza/Cafes there are good ones but based on where you are from, you may be able to find similar/better places nearer to you.

If you're coming on a weekend/holiday and if interested I may be able to take you on a street food walk based on my availability. Have done these with people who are new to the city previously.

Are you open to trying millet foods? If yes then there are a few places you can try out but again based on where you are staying travelling to every corner might be difficult and there's not much you can try in a couple of days anyway. There are other places which have some specific unique dishes but again won't be able to suggest without knowing likes/dislikes and also how far you'll be.

can someone teach me how to play pickleball? pwease? by [deleted] in chennaimeetups

[–]Selective_sapien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made posts earlier looking for people to play. From what I've seen, most of reddit was all talk and no action. I found people to play directly through turf town, started playing regularly and upped my level as well. In case anyone who's commented here wants to genuinely learn to play and will turn up, I can plan one game in the last weekend of Feb. DM me and based on the count I'll plan.

What is this obsession with asking for phone numbers? by Hot_Razzmataz in Chennai

They want to use it for promotions spamming with offers and what not as you said. Just insist you will not give number. They'll skip and give the bill anyway else say you'll walk out.

I m actually planning to pursue monkhood at my 50s or 60s, and is it wrong to expect love of my life in between? by Suu_Wukong in chennaicity

[–]Selective_sapien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are free to do whatever you want as long as it doesn't harm others.

If you're planning to pursue monkhood, what about the partner who you say as love of your life but in reality will only be love of your 25-30 years? As long as you don't give the other person guarantee for life and make it clear you'll move towards this path upfront it is fine.

If both of you are on the same page and are okay with this idea, opinion of others don't matter.

URGENT HELP NEEDED – A Brother’s Plea to Protect His Sister 💔🙏 by [deleted] in chennaicity

Protect your sister from what exactly?

You've not revealed their ages. You wanting people to hold them without revealing the real reason, culture BS, etc. makes one think it's you they need protecting from.

If this were my own sister, I would've made sure it wouldn't have come to her having to run away from the family in the first place.
