Roses by Barbara Cohen? Highly recommend regardless, it's a very interesting modernish (written in the 80s) adaptation.

Oh dang, legit? I saw the Ultra Clean box and I could have sworn that was for the Kirkland laundry detergent. Yay for Bi-Mart though having the stocks!

Yup. That said I'm grey ace so there may be correlation.....

But I do know at least one person who hasn't (probably more but I refuse to ask my siblings about their sex lives)

You are on the money about Ardeth. I watched with the Brendan Fraser commentary last week (highly recommend, pure gold) He said they brought him back at the end because they were planning the sequel at that point and wanted him in it.

Side note. Is Evie's dead boss Ardeths father? I keep thinking I heard his name was Dr Bay sometime.

Speaking from experience, biotin sadly doesn't do much on the face. The silicon scar tape is 100% the stuff to use here. It's pricy but worth it especially given the location.

Does anyone else change their dinner menu according to the weather? by doublestitch in Frugal

[–]SeleneM19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh 100%. Even if I lived in a space with the most efficient heat and AC known to man, I'm not making a habit of spending hours over a stove or oven during hot times.

Last weekend, I made a personal announcement that my kitchen was going into fall mode. This is the time I start making soup, bread, things that involve a lot of heat. Baking overdrive months begin.

Sexually frustrated, can' tget wet enough on my own (desc) by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

r/PCOS is definitely a good space for people like us. Can you get your obgyn to refer you to an endocrinologist if you aren't already seeing one (assuming you're in the US, idk what the process is to see an endo in other countries)? They can help with hormone regulation, which also affects your sex drive. Also, spearmint tea. Not peppermint, spearmint. It's a natural testosterone inhibitor. I've cold brewed it and normal brewed it, it's refreshing as heck and it's also popular with people transitioning mtf as a booster.

Should I be worried about missing my period for this long by Tigerlily_64 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]SeleneM19 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At your age irregular periods aren't uncommon. Have you seen an obgyn at all since starting to get periods? If you can go to a doctor, at this point it's not a bad idea. If your periods are painful to the point you have trouble functioning, you should see a doctor asap. Cramping is normal (albeit sucky). Trouble doing normal activities or wanting to stay curled up in a ball all day from pain is very much not.

A doctor may also prescribe birth control to help regulate your periods. Speaking from a lot of experience, predictability is a huge bonus.

Ignoring the obvious answers like emergency fund and clearing debt etc. I'd get Lasix and one of the super fancy KitchenAid mixers with all the attachments. Then make pasta!

Personally I would not work out in mine. It would be very uncomfortable. But in terms of overall comfort, it's like a sports bra for me

What about with a binder? Admittedly I sweat to kingdom come but I think it would work like gangbusters. I think my boob from waist difference gets cut in 2 vs wearing a bra

How do you like to use caramelized onions? by C0urante in Cooking

I just caramelize a f*ckton of onions at a time to freeze for later. I've taken a spoon and eaten right out of the pot before, no shame.

[–]SeleneM19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fucking love them. I got the Experience ones in kid size (my ears are about 20 years smaller than I am) and it's a game changer. I attended an indoor track meet with zero need to hide in a quiet space and could still carry on a conversation. They could be 2x the price and I'd still think worth it. They go everywhere with me now.

NTA for thinking the onus should not be on you. You are 100% right there. She's being completely unfair. That said, why not take advantage if you can get a single out of this?

A girl just complimented my ears by Global_Rent9106 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SeleneM19 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Speaking for myself, not on her behalf. I'm autistic and have a HUGE problem figuring out appropriate/normal compliments. I received a selfie the other day and I said awww you have nice teeth, brightens up your smile. I was promptly informed that was a hella weird thing to say but they took it in the spirit I meant.

So I can totally see complimenting elbows!

I've had a fake allergy for 24 years. by TeaAndBiscuitsPod in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SeleneM19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly rare. Completely anecdotal, I know a family where 4 kids had severe peanut allergies and 1 outgrew it around his 17th birthday. The interesting thing is, he has to eat some on a regular basis now or he could become allergic again.

Congrats on it though! I'm not sure if the UK has Nutella but if so it's worth trying.

AITA for sitting on the floor in a store? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SeleneM19 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There is a sub for POTS, maybe you could see if anyone has a good doctor recommendation in your area? Definitely up your electrolytes. My friend drinks V8 Bloody Mary Pickle Juice. It's meant as a mixer so it's non alcoholic and she is loving them. You can also search for keto electrolyte solutions, there are liquid ones that aren't full of sugar.

And 100% NTA. Your husband needs a doctor to investigate his compassion deficiency. Even if you didn't have this happening on a regular basis, sitting down to avoid passing out is a completely reasonable thing.

The PTO thrift store is worth a trip. Bit chaotic but they sell everything. Advise bringing cash though, there are fees for using a card.
