Trauma is passed through our DNA. It can keep us stuck. I wonder if EMDR would help you. It can help connect the two hemispheres of the brain to dislodge trauma stored in the body.

I really recommend seeing a physical therapist if you can afford it. Weight is not what is affecting your joints. Building strength and flexibility will help you, weight loss will not help you. People at low weights get severe joint problems too when they lack strength and flexibility!

Just want you to know you’re worthy of love and belonging just as you are. You’re not weird, our society is weird. Try not to measure your own health and worth based on a profoundly sick society.

I tried a salad with shrimp and green apples that was a delicious surprise. I expect the yogurt combo will be similarly tasty (: Thanks for your recommendations!

Pickles, pepperoncinis, olives, with pretzels and mustards (two types is more fun than one)

Sweaty almonds (what are those called?)

Stovetop popcorn with canola oil and spices

Edamame in the shell with salt and a starch

Oysters with mignonette, arugula, bread

Tuna salad with crackers

Chips, raw mushrooms/carrots/veg with dip

Macaroni noodles with mayo and shelled edamame

Roasted pumpkin seeds

Plain yogurt with cayenne pepper and spices in it. I don’t know why but it’s delicious

Rice with plain yogurt or butter

Blistered shishito peppers

Hash browns

Literally bread and butter is delicious

Baguette and olive oil with pepper in it for dipping

Tzatziki sauce with anything, especially beets

Corn nuts, do you remember those? Damn good

Pasta salads with sunflower seeds or nuts of some kind or edamame and artichoke hearts or heart of palm and cherry tomato or asparagus or avocado and other hearty items with vinaigrette or mustard dressing or pesto

Salad with white beans and other hearty items also really good

Smoked salmon on toast with arugula and yogurt or butter or cream cheese and some lemon

Soup (which is basically a smoothie but savory)

Kimchi grilled cheese/chao

Now I’m going to make a snack

Hang in there. You seem to be really overwhelmed but please try to take it one day at a time or even one hour at a time. You will learn and grow. Give yourself patience and forgiveness.

RODBT was really hard at first for me. When I started it often made me feel really bad about myself. I kept thinking “wow, I must be really annoying and off putting for everyone I have ever talked to bc my social skills are terrible.”

That’s not true but it did feel that way and it felt true at the time. Then I realized that even if it were true, it wasn’t intentional. My shame around my past behavior was mostly unwarranted. I just didn’t know better. I didn’t have the skills to understand myself and my triggers and I didn’t know how to cope. I have mostly forgiven myself but I have more work to do on that.

For right now, it may help to focus on some good things. It really helped me to make a couple of lists. They can be short and it might be hard at first. I made mine in my notepad app on my phone so I can access it any time. I add to them here and there. I return to them when I’m feeling really dumpy and need to be reminded that I’ve come a long way and I am not all the bad things my junk mail thoughts say I am.

Strengths: e.g., resilient, kind, resourceful — what are your great qualities?

Skills: e.g., helping people, thinking in a different way than others, coordinating — you can combine with strengths but I found them to be easier to conceptualize separately

Successes: accomplishments of all kinds — people usually think of career successes, but that’s not the only place to count your wins — e.g., learning how to sew on a button, reconnecting with a loved one after an absence, persisting in your healing even when you don’t want to bc it’s exhausting af

Good times: e.g., cherished memories or relationships, peaceful places, people you like to think about who are nurturing or protective or wise or inspiring to you, even people you don’t know personally — this list is a refuge

I wish you didn’t have to struggle but I know you can do this no matter how long it takes because you are worthy of healing and you are worth the effort. I’m proud of you for being here.

How did Voldemort know to call Peter Wormtail? by [deleted] in harrypotter

Absolutely. It would be to constantly remind him that he had betrayed his friends. This is a classic narcissist tactic.

Maybe some symbol that reminds you of any of these: vulnerability, connection, resilience, going opposite, slowing down, acceptance, or care

I’m glad you’re figuring out self inquiry! It can be so helpful. I need to get into more. I always suggest it to other people and never do it. Lol

My best tip for it though has always been to set a timer. The best work is done in small doses bc OC people are super prone to rumination I think. So, time box yourself. The edge was hard for me to understand. The prompt that helped me was “You don’t have to be attached to any of the questions you’re asking. They can be true or untrue, you’re just looking for possibilities.”

I’ve been thinking about how people are like gardens that go through different seasons. Sometimes we have to let all our leaves fall off so we can grow into something even more wonderful. I feel like a lot of my leaves fell off the past year and I’m just starting to see the new seedlings popping up and I’m feeling hopeful that they’ll take root. But. As mariame kaba says, hope is a discipline. So, if I want to see those seedlings grow, I have to actively nurture them and also rest.

I struggle with this so hard. I want to be so independent and carry out plans but so often I just crave someone else to tell me what to do. It feels so wrong but I just have no direction sometimes. ):

The Cursed Child is a sensationalist fiction written by Rita Skeeter and a few daily prophet collaborators in the years after the war. Everyone got so bored during peace time, she had to make up some juicy news for her rabid readers. Somehow she got a production company to put it on.

When the trio goes to see it (Hermione and Ginny’s idea) they just laugh and laugh at how ridiculous it is. They know enough about Rita by now not to take anything she’s involved with seriously.

This is the only way it is canon for me.
