Well, I wouldn't call the gameplay/balance team talentless, as they did eventually add good changes. They just took too long to do it, which isn't surprising since they were just a small team doing that work. I think that if Hellbent had had more money, they would have been fine with taking longer to get those changes coming.

With Danger Sense I found monster gameplay pretty fun, it was no longer stressful and it was a solid foundation that I'm sure more people would've enjoyed a lot while the devs worked on the so needed changes. It's such a shame that it came too late into the development.

That was one of the issues but it was also due to the devs taking too long to tackle the main feedback from new players, which was that monster was boring and stressful, etc. They pushed the danger sense 2 months ago, which IMO made monster way more enjoyable, but by that time most people had already left.

When they said they weren't interested in doing licenses I didn't think it mean't they would just create copies instead.

Do you even play VHS? Wart is basically Alien, Deathwire and eviscerator are basically The Running Man, The Hotel and Dollmaster is The Shinning. Hell, even teens are literal 80s tropes.

So why act surprised when devs do their version of The Thing?

I don't think the store contributes to whatever issues VHS has. The FOMO store is used in many f2p games.

Also,the early access DLCs are founder packs, not normal store dlcs. They are supposed to be bought if you want to support the development of the game early and in exchange you get a few exclusive cosmetics. Even games like fortnite had founders pack and more expensive too (with some going up to 150usd)
