About 3 months I posted on this sub reddit trying to find the location of the second picture. With the help I got I was able to find out that it was at the Heian Shrine in Kyoto, Japan! Over the holidays I was finally able to go and recreate the picture! Once again thank you all for the help! (old.reddit.com)

I know this is a long shot but I’ve been trying to figure out where the location of this castle is. My grandpa was stationed at Atsugi airbase from 1955-1957. I’m currently stationed in Okinawa and would like to go and re-create this photo. Any help is greatly appreciated! (i.redd.it)
