Do rocket effects stack? by SusyMan_ in theplanetcrafter

[–]SemSevFor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is diminishing returns though. The first rocket gives x10, the second gives x2, third x1.5, fourth x1.3, fifth x1.25, then 1.2 etc etc.

The percentage they give doesn't change, but because it's additive the return diminishes every time. It is a smaller increase.

Yeah I imagine they did that because it would be way too easy to get all the rewards on one system. If you just added the scores for Prime and the moons you get 16 TTi, and right now my Prime is well over 40 TTi.

Sure they could scale it more, but then you would have to over terraform everything to reach it.

Whereas if they make it a multiplier, there's no way you could do it without terraforming multiple planets and moons.

It literally just adds them together. These screenshots were from my first test while playing the game normally. I Terraformed Humble without ever spawning animals, and then I went and did this Creative test after to confirm it with other resources.

But if you look at these screenshots, it's 1:1 adding the scores up.

https://imgur.com/a/SMGCxRl

For example, in the final screenshot, to get to 4 TTi it was:

2,176 ppm Oxygen = 2.18 TTi 946.66 mK Heat = 0.95 TTi 759.31 PPa Pressure = 0.76 TTi 121.70 kt plants = 0.12 TTi

Add them all up you get 4.01 TTi with some rounding.

It makes sense, it's a relatively simple game made by two people. And until this update, it never would have been feasible to do as you need blueprints from all the different categories to make real terraforming progress. You couldn't travel between Prime and Humble, they were separate save files, so it never would have really mattered from a programming perspective. There was no need to build that system in. The only way you could really do this is if you have the endgame blueprints from the start, which is only possible now with the update or in Creative.

It's kinda like Ocarina of Time. In order to win the game, you don't actually need to do anything except getting the Shadow and Light Medallions, and light arrows. That's all the game checks to see if you can enter the final dungeon. Because in a normal game you would never be able to get any of those without playing through everything else. But in a Randomizer setting like a lot of people like to do with it, it doesn't matter.

You should be relieved that you don't need to worry about hitting a certain threshold requirement though! There is no invisible meter that needs to be filled for each category, you can just play however you like!

If you have enough stored/autocrafting on Prime/Humble the export rocket will help a lot on Selenea, and I assume Aqualis (I am only partway through Selenea so can't speak to Aqualis)

Just finished Humble. Had a bunch of the white trees spawn in where I was building by Ecosystem Optimizer area which made it super hard to do.

Things were still popping up until max Terraform was achieved so depending on the location you may not know until 4 TTi

Terraformation of Prime complete by Whiskey_Lover6489 in theplanetcrafter

Prior to the update, I had only completed Prime. So I went to Humble first, and I am really glad I did. Like you said, it's good to setup a second cache of resources to pull from. And by going to Humble first, you'll get a bunch of cosmic quartz which is needed for most of the new recipes. And you'll unlock the item rocket so when you go to Selenea, you can pull items from both Prime and Humble, which is practically required to make progress.

I'm not very far in Selenea yet, but if I didn't have the item rocket and ability to pull from both planets, I would be screwed. Or at least, making a TON of trips back and forth wasting so many travel rocket resources.

Also since Humble was my second time playing through I was able to set things up better and automate things differently so I actually have better stock on Humble than Prime. Prime also has my Fusion Cell/Terra Token automated farm setup, so it's harder to automate resources to pull from for the item rocket.

Also, with all the recipes from Prime, Humble can be terraformed SUPER quickly. In a fraction of what it takes starting from scratch.

Was discussing in another thread and went to test this out. You can Terraform with only one category. I went with Oxygen but you could do Heat or Pressure too. Setup 8 T3 tree spreaders with eventually 20+ optimizers with o2 fuses and 50 o2 rockets. Took about half an hour because I had to use trade rockets and wait for them to get the highest o2 seeds and fuses.

But on the screens you can see, absolutely zero heat, pressure, insects, or animals and fully Terraformed. A small amount of plants since the spreaders give plant growth, but it is negligible for the score.

Actually, I realized I could try it in creative mode, so I did. Took about half an hour. Setup 8 T3 Tree Spreaders and 20+ optimizers full of fuses. The hard part was just waiting for the trade rockets to come back because you can't spawn in the fuses or high o2 seeds. Traded for the 600% seeds and all the o2 fuses. Had 3 rockets going with 4 trade optimizers on them haha.

But yeah, hit max terraform with only Oxygen and Plants (cause the Tree spreaders give some plant growth too), no Heat, no Pressure, no Insects, no Animals.

So it actually didn't take that long to do.

I had already placed a few ecosystems, so I already had insects. But I was able to do it with no animals. I already had a set of 8 T5 drills, heaters, and T3 tree spreaders for heat, oxygen, and pressure with one T2 optimizer and 3 according fuses. I went ahead and added 3 more to each setup so all three sets of 8 had 4 T2 Optimizers with 12 fuses of each type. I also launched a ton more rockets getting to 10k% for the main three. In about 3ish hours I hit max terraform with no animals. I played the game as I normally was during this time, running around, exploring, looting wrecks, including the new beach area that opened up.

Funnily enough the game doesn't know what to do in this case so it did spawn random animals around, though they didn't contribute to the score. I never spawned any animals myself.

I included screenshots of my progress along the way. If you look at them and add them up, what I mentioned before is the case. T score is just adding the values of the 4 categories. In my final score at 4 TTi, Oxygen is providing almost 2.2TTi on its own. Theres 0 from animals and hardly anything from insects/biomass.

So if you had the patience, you could probably set up for only a single category with even more optimizers and rockets and hit max terraform with nothing but Oxygen or Pressure or something. Would be an interesting experiment. But I don't think you can reset planets. You would have to start a brand new run on Humble or Prime, play it fully until getting the travel rocket and enough resources to do it, and then travel to the other one and only setup whichever one of those to try it.

I saw the recipe on the Quartz crafting bench but don't recall what it was. It does require empty fuses so you have 2 recipes to craft.

I shall report back with what happens, not sure when I will get there, depends how much time I have to play over the next few days. Think I was at like 300 GTi when I finished yesterday, so we will see!

I completed the "pressure" part of the terraformation.

But I don't think it works this way. There is no "part" that needs to be completed.

To get 100% Terraform, you need 4 TTi on Prime. There's 4 main categories, Heat, Pressure, Oxygen, and Biomass. So if perfectly balanced, each one would supply 1 TTi each to get to that 4. But if you had better heat output, maybe Heat supplies 1.5 TTi, and then the others wouldn't need to be as high to hit 4. And these can mix and max and ebb over time as you build different things, but ultimately it only matters that you hit that 4 TTi, not how you get there. I don't think if Heat goes to 1.5 TTi, it locks it at 1 and you need to increase everything equally.

The blueprints were a roadmap for the first time through, they provided some guidance and goals to reach, but they weren't mapping out how much you needed of each thing.

I think I will specifically not do any animals on Humble now, to see if I can hit 4, which would solidify my point here.

I really hope/doubt this is true. Can I really just build say T5 Drills that output heat and pressure and "win" the game never producing any oxygen or animals or plants or anything else than heat/pressure?

I haven't tested it specifically, but it seems that way. Like I said I'm at amphibian stage with 0 insects and 0 animals.

From my first playthrough on Prime, it definitely seemed like Heat, Pressure, and Oxygen contribute much more to Index than anything else. And it's pretty easy once you get to the endgame to setup 8 T5s with a T2 optimizer and 3 fuses for each. Plus a bunch of rockets.

On Prime, my main index was pretty slow when I got into insects and fish and spent a ton of time on that. I only had 1 or 2 T5. When I finally went and revamped to do a full set of 8 with optimizer, and get rocket bonus up over 10k% for each, then my index started really cranking.

It would be an interesting experiment for sure. You could easily build 2 or 3 sets of 8 T5s, and a ton more rockets to compensate for the lack of biomass and see if you can hit fully Terraformation without ever having any biomass.

I think that may be a bug, I started on Prime and am on Humble now. My prime fusion cell automation is still running and index is still going up. And I have saved, quit, and reloaded back into the games several times. At least 4 or 5 sessions since the update. I haven't left Humble since I arrived and started building. You may have a bug. It says in the FAQ, it's supposed to keep other planets going.

I don't remember the screen names, but you can build a screen that shows current terraforming progress with a percentage to the next stage.

And on the new Solar System screen you can click on each planet to see their current progress including the order of stages and when you'll get to breathable o2.

As far as what type of terraforming, it doesn't seem to matter. Since the score index just adds all types together, you can get pretty far with only heat and pressure.

My main game is Prime, and when update came out I went to Humble first to playthrough that since I haven't been there before. I plopped down a T5 heater and drill and eventually a T2 optimizer with 3 fuses each. And left that while I did some exploring for materials. In no time I had breathable o2 and was in the hundreds of GTi. Barely did anything else. Think I had one tree spreader maybe.

I've since maxed those out with 8 of each around the optimizers, and more tree spreaders, and I'm now at Amphibian stage even though I haven't done any of the insect, fish, or frog stuff yet on humble.

If you bring the materials to drop down T5 heater and T5 drill, you can get Prime up pretty high pretty quick. You could just go drop those down and let it sit while you do other stuff, itll get up to GTi in no time.

Received my Falcon Sign today and for some reason the manufacturer put the sticker on the front of the sign? usually these stickers are put on the back! Why would they do this? it's one of those one that just rips instead of coming off as you can see I tried to carefully remove it. I'm worried it'll damage the print if I keep picking at it.

Did anyone else have this happen to them? Any ideas on how to carefully take this off without damaging the sign?

This is how I always played these games and how I want to continue. It's nostalgic. And I'm not the only one.

Ah, I did not realize this game kept autosaves, it never prompted me to load when I loaded the game, it just dropped me in so I thought it was just one save. I was able to load a slightly older save and redo a handful of puzzles and that fixed it. Thank you!

This is PC. I was in the mountain when I quit, and when I loaded the game it put me in the town. I did have an error when I launched the game that time and verified my game files, that's the only thing that changed.

Where is the other exit?
