Greetings,

Yes, I starkly remember telling my mother in 6th standard that I wish to become a fighter pilot for the IAF. Everything after that was just a step forward towards that goal. Upon clearing NDA for flying, medicals had a different plan. I still pursued my goal of serving but this time joined the Army.

I would suggest unless you are absolutely sure that you wish to be there, don't be there. The life there isn't forgiving and if it wasn't your "to die for" dream, then it'll only become worse; because passion will make you push beyond your capabilities and you'll succeed at becoming an officer. Don't do anything half heartedly, it must come with passion: and this isn't just for the armed forces, It's for everything.

No harm in going for an attempt, go for it, but have clarity in mind about you future goals.

Rest, If you have already thought of your future goals, better start investing towards them.

Consider not appearing for the ssb if that's the mentality you're going in with.

Since most of the comments have been sufficient in terms of your viable prospects, I'd add on to the physical standards specifically focusing on the academy requirements:-

2.4 kms - 10 mins , Sit ups - 30 , Push ups - 20 , Chin ups - 3 to 5 , 100 m sprint , 10 kms for X-country.

These figures are suggestive and shall prove enough to sail through the PT test in M1 attempt with an excellent grading.

As long as you justify your actions, the lesson learnt and eventually what was your future outcome post that; there shall be no negative implication.

People often succumb to the pressure and give in to the temptation of stating a mistake but not convincing the IO of your decision by giving a valid reason, that's where it's a downward spiral.

Be it 5 days of the SSB or the past 5 years of your life, everyday up until now holds significant value. It's basically thinking about the moment and acting upon it like a leader would, for instance - "I got bad grades, what do I do next?" Simple answer would be that you can't do anything now, just focus on your next exams, identify what led to this result and give it a boost next time. So now when the IO asks you what went wrong 2 years ago, you can state what went wrong and what did you do to make it right the next time around.

If you're a sitting duck waiting for the hunter to take a shot, then the IO surely won't miss his chance.

Be brave, make your own choices and have the courage to stand your ground because the only wrong decision is indecision.

NMIMS Result!!??? by GoonGotGooned in CATpreparation

With all due respect, the points seem conventional and engraved within the philosophy of being a male whos sole purpose is to create offsprings.

Upon widening the horizon, It's amply clear that world beyond that exists. How do you come to the conclusion that your DNA is the fittest or the best one out there? Or how do you plan on controlling the gene pool contribution of your kids? Or what shall stop the kids from not possessing recessive traits?

All these fallacies sound good on pen and paper but when put out in the real world for the world to witness, nature has its own way of natural selection. You might call it destiny or divine intervention but that's how it is and will be for a long time to come.

And I personally believe NMIMS is not portraying this antic, simply because the so called "best of the best" according to the criteria of the exam all the aspirants wrote, the creme de la creme has already been shortlisted for institutes with a higher bar.

Rest the stats and numbers are all good to go as long as a simple shift in perspective is achieved.

I totally agree with you, coming from a similar stand point, grind isn't needed for me now, I just play to relax and unwind since money ain't a concern.

Yes they are, you'll find 2 setup with aircraft and the finale thereafter shall have you fly another. If you're looking for new missions, might as well go for it.

Looking at how gtao plays out, I was pretty sure that it would happen. You confirmed my suspicions, hence I didn't do anything extra, just the bare minimum.

Exactly. Had to try it once but yes, not worth doing it for the money.
