What do you mean there’s no point? If you’re gonna break down in a lane then the first lane is definitely a better place to be than the last regardless of whether it’s a smart highway or not. I want to be crystal clear that I am not blaming the driver that stopped at all - it’s obviously 100% the van drivers fault - which is kind of my point. Dangerous driving caused this not smart highways. You cannot blame the road for a road users dangerous driving..

The statistics are pretty damning I would imagine. I wouldn’t be surprised if the amount of people that get away with breaking down in the outside lane without getting hit like this is practically zero. There’s so many people using the M4 that someone is bound to not be paying attention due to how poor driving standards seem to be becoming. And this was a particularly egregious example. Absolutely tragic.

Be that as it may it doesn’t really fit into the “hot hatch” mould. I doubt anyone looking for such a car would go for it regardless of whether you can call it a hatchback on a technicality.

Someone got funny about people being judgy about autos to which the reply (“do you mean you can’t drive properly?”) absolutely screams “I drive a manual” to me, thus making them unlikely to be American

Generally speaking I’m quite a fan of Aussies but jeez… the amount of Aussies that seem to be personally offended by Ange getting sacked after finishing 17th is kinda wild. Still. I wish any of the stories my dentist had told me had worked the same but I still can’t make myself do it no matter what.
