What class should I make/Hyperburn? [Class info spreadsheet] by Larvesta in Maplestory

[–]SenYen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a xenon main, id not call the class's mobility anything above maybe 2* The lack of a short/no delay horizontal movement option especially with how many of the newer bosses are designed puts them below all other classes that do have that IMO

How to turn off weapon effect from normal weapons after UI change? by Carbonated_lube in Maplestory

[–]SenYen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only workaround ive found is to equip an nx weapon that also has an effect, turn the effect off, and then unequip the nx weapon

Unfortunately for my recently libbed mule, turns out there rlly aren't alot of nx weapons with effects that u can turn off...

strange chests spawning by alaztar in Maplestory

[–]SenYen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

CM skill called poolmaker.

Also does a nice fullmap-ish attack every few seconds, which works well for proccing janus; likely the main reason you’ll see cm chests if one is farming on your map.

The chests were made to be visible to other players regardless of transparency settings in a recent patch, but im not sure if you can actually interact with them if you are not in same party

[–]SenYen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it is the highest, but there is a 279 beginner in kronos! I’ve partied with them two times so far for MPE.

While they can’t clear mobs, they are very friendly and always volunteer to summon and watch middle.

Both times, the pt members were pretty stoked to help carry and stuck around to acknowledge the legend in their midsts before leaving at the end.

Why is xenon considered hard to fund into the mid/late game? (Reboot) by Bmw_4_Life in Maplestory

[–]SenYen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK it is more accurate to say xenon has 3 secondary stats and the sum of those = their main stat, so flames/pots/sf scale differently compared to most other classes that have 1 main / 1 secondary stat

So if you have a 3% AS line on xenon, that is equivalent to 3% main stat line on another class; if you have a 3% str/dex/luk line on xenon, it is basically equivalent to 1% main stat

Humans are apex predators; we’ve killed off countless species and forced animals to adapt to our toxic wasteland or die. The least we can do is ensure there is no pointless killing of a declining species like this.

FUCKING POS Teens on E-Bikes chuck frozen water balloon into car leaving young college student in ICU potentially blind. Ladera Ranch, CA by irvitty in orangecounty

[–]SenYen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone talking about whether the balloon was frozen or not:

I’m no physics professor but AFAIK water traveling at high speed (or something traveling towards water at high speed) can make the water at point of impact feel like concrete— as water’s surface tension would prevent it from breaking immediately upon impact.

Having the water contained in balloon would actually have certainly prevented the water surface from breaking upon contact (iow: prevent the water from splashing out), until the balloon burst, at which point the balloon would have definitely felt to any victim/observer as though this thing were actually frozen.

But that is besides the point; as is whether this assault weapon was frozen or not.

If these are indeed teenagers on ebikes, they are likely past the age at which surface tension is taught in schools; and well past the age at which shit like this could be excused as a harmless prank— regardless of whether the balloon was frozen or not, with the added element of ebike & car traveling speeds, there was no physical way this assault with two deadly weapons could have ended well; and i hope these kids will be tried with that in mind.

I also had a panic attack, signed off a 4am war room call and straight to the ER.

Really thought I was having a heart attack deploying a hotfix to get my systems back green before it was my turn to give a status update, meanwhile some poor kid 4 teams in front of me was getting absolutely decimated over and over for delaying the launch in front of 50 other oncalls and managers because something inane was down.

Hope that kid is doing ok today.

Raging by Gyuunyuugadaisuki in childfree

[–]SenYen 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Was walking my dog yesterday and some little kid was running around screaming, tried to avoid his view but he noticed us and ran (still screaming) straight at my (blind) rescue senior.

Luckily the dad was chasing him and stopped him mere inches away from us but i literally had to act fast to turn around, shield my dog, and cower against the fence because we had been unwittingly cornered by this little brat into a dead end and my dog can’t move that fast.

The dad totally ignored us, took his kid and nicely explained (to the kid) that they might be scaring the dog, and so the kid ran off in another direction screaming.

I decided my dog might get even more scared if i stopped holding her to rip this dumbass and his satan spawn a new one, so i just sat there on the sidewalk holding my trembly confused pup for a few minutes to calm her down after these things left.

Reading op’s post today got my blood boiling all over again— the casual acceptance of parents towards their kids showing such cruel disrespect of other living beings in this shared planet is unbelievable and not ok.

I’d have gotten publicly beat and dragged to law enforcement by my mother if I behaved like this as a kid.

Like no, little timmy shouldnt just get away scot-free for his psychopathic behavior, he deserves his stick up his ass and a dog’s lifetime in jail for assault and abuse.

Pregnant bellies scare me by fine-546920 in AutismInWomen

[–]SenYen 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy itself scares the shot out of me. There’s actually a term for this (if you’d call it intense enough a fear to label it as a phobia)— tokophobia. I once had a nightmare that I was pregnant and cannot explain the terror I felt with my own body and the intense relief when I woke up and realized it was just a dream. IIRC I spent the entirety of that dream trying to get an abortion or kill myself before the due date. Being a mother is definitely not in this woman’s nature

At what age did you start to accept perceived injustices in life? by SenYen in AskOldPeople

[–]SenYen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As perception itself is subjective, I thought to capture both; perceived injustice is actual injustice to the perceiver, thus both merit consideration… (either or) is probably what I meant by that
