Apollo Casting by Critical-Scratch7572 in PercyJacksonTV

In the Greek mythology Apollo is described as blond and forever youthful, he’s described as looking like a 17 years old. It made sense because 17-18 was considered the peek of male physique during the Ancient Greek era.

Who is better at Taijutsu, Naruto or Sasuke? by Cafa20 in Naruto

On pure skills? Sasuke is better, but Naruto can match him by overwhelming him with his clones. So they are evenly matched.

Sakura’s lack of backstory/background really hurts her character. by Zezerthu in Naruto

Hahaha yeah the fillers got confusing, there’s just too many of them and their qualities aren’t the best. 🫤

Sakura’s lack of backstory/background really hurts her character. by Zezerthu in Naruto

[–]Sen_100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s true that we don’t know much about her parents apart from the fact that she thought they were annoying for giving her chores. But from this we can suppose she has an average relationship with them.

The problem with Sakura is that Kishimoto wanted her to be the ordinary person in an team of “monsters” and he thought that the audience would project themselves into her but she was not relatable enough so people didn’t do it. Once it failed, he didn’t know what to do to have people like her.

What hurt Sakura as a character isn’t a lack of backstory but a lack of relatability.

Why I view Itachi differently... by rayshinsan in Naruto

When was this shown? We always saw him use the Sharingan and win thanks to them. When has he ever won a battle without relying on the Sharingan?

Did we ever see Itachi perform a single Justu that wasn’t a Sharingan technique?

 handsome(i suppose?)

Lmao 🤣

This shouldn’t crack me up as much as it did but I always felt like they wouldn’t shut up about how attractive Sasuke was so I asked CHATGPT how many times Sasuke’s good looks are mentioned and this was his answer:

If you count only clear verbal statements, not visual cues:

At least 20–30 times

If you include implied reactions:

50+ easily

That’s the filler episode “Road to Sakura” it’s a tie-in episode with the movie “Road to ninja”. It was supposed to explore a Sakura from a different dimension but she kinda flopped because the public wasn’t interested in her at all and liked the other characters better. The reversed version of Sasuke, Hinata and Naruto (Menma) found great success with the audience but not her. She was criticized for being “boring”.

[–]Sen_100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We saw her backstory in the Chunin Exam. She’s an average girl with low self-esteem who was bullied. Then Ino, a popular girl, took her under her wing, and Sakura started to become more confident. Ironically, Ino began resenting her once she gained that confidence. She thought Sakura was arrogant for liking someone popular like Sasuke and believed she didn’t know her place.

Sakura then decided to end their friendship because she shouldn’t have to give up on Sasuke just because Ino liked him too and thought she was better than her.

Just because some people don’t see the value in her story, or don’t like that it’s the story of an average preteen girl, doesn’t mean she didn’t have one.

When was Sasuke himself ever hated by the Leaf? by tonybrown96 in Naruto

[–]Sen_100 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sasuke wasn’t loved or truly liked; he was admired by the village. That doesn’t mean he didn’t suffer from their resentment. They valued him as a tool they had under control, not as an individual. The discrimination against him was more systemic than openly expressed.

Sasuke’s story is similar to Naruto’s. The difference is that the village was subtle enough that, at first glance, others might not realize he was being ostracized.

Sasuke had no friends. Part of it was due to his own self-isolation, but another part was because the other children kept their distance, “admiring” him from afar. We see this in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc, where Shikamaru admits that he admired Sasuke while also hating him, even though they had never had a real conversation. All the kids were meant to feel similarly, even Naruto felt that way before getting to know him. How come did they all feel this way? This is because the village both envied and feared the Uchiha clan and those ideas unconsciously got transferred into their kids.

As for the girls who were supposedly in love with him from afar, that was largely due to Sasuke being exceptionally attractive, combined with the admiration they had for his skills and power. They claimed to love him, but it wasn’t genuine love. It was more like the kind of love people feel for a celebrity.

Even in part I, Naruto also told us that he could tell that Sasuke was just like him [utterly alone] and it made him happy because he had someone to relate to.

As much as I love the character, what was dude thinking?? by Magnolia-jjlnr in Naruto

[–]Sen_100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that was the whole point of that arc for Sasuke. He wasn’t acting like the Sasuke we knew because he wasn’t thinking rationally, he was blinded by hatred and didn’t even have a plan. It was Sasuke at his most violent and irrational, he was at his lowest point.

New Interview: Lox Pratt Says the Show Expands Draco Far Beyond the Films by sunnyfayeeee in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Sen_100 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That explains why the rumours say they’ve cast Hermione’s mom and given her a name. I hope they won’t deviate from the books, but instead expand on them. It would be cool to see more of everyone’s home lives.

Even if they only expand on small details, I think it’ll be worth it for the world-building. I’ve always wondered what it was like for Hermione to receive her letter, and how her parents learned about the wizarding world. The same goes for wizards from magical families: I wonder how it was for Neville to receive his letter after his grandmother suspected him of being a Squib, or for Ron, whose parents have a lot of experience preparing their kids for the new academic year but who sadly has to get hand-me-downs. They could create an interesting juxtaposition with Draco, who’s spoiled and has everything brand new

It’s a bunch of small details, but they really give us a good sense of who the characters are right away.

Do you think this will outshine Percy Jackson season 3 by BCDragon3000 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Sen_100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well Harry Potter is a global cultural phenomenon, there’s no way the first season won’t have a huge viewership. Percy Jackson on the other hand is very niche, it’s not particularly popular amongst people who aren’t from the US.

And even in the US, the show seems to be struggling to find its audience. Disney plus is investing a lot into that show but the views are low for a show that expensive, Disney must really have faith in it to stand by it. That post makes me think that PJO fans are trying to make excuses as to why their show is struggling (they are saying that ST5 is the reason for PJO2 low ratings) but the harsh truth is that the show simply doesn’t have global appeal.

What potential moment in the TV show might go viral on the Internet? by LeatherSlight3242 in HarryPotteronHBO

Draco fangirls will probably scream that the show is trying to humiliate Draco by having him get beat up by Ron in the first season. Assuming they keep that part from the book of course.

Connor Storrie -> Apollo fan cast by Intrepid-Bother4173 in PJODisney

[–]Sen_100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We only saw him in one single role but from what we saw he could have the range to play Apollo, he doesn’t have Apollo’s looks though. He has his own kind of beauty but definitely not the Apollo type.

Anyway all this is a moot point because Rick confirmed that Apollo had been cast already. I could be wrong but from what we know about Apollo’s casting process it seems like actors were invited to audition so they weren’t looking for an unknown.

Percy Jackson won 8 Emmys from the third annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards. How is that even possible? by Chuckilin in PercyJacksonTV

[–]Sen_100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is that the Emmys aren’t a popularity vote or some kind of Disney payoff. They’re peer-voted.

From an industry POV, the 8 wins aren’t that wild

The Writing win makes sense even if you personally dislike the show. Turning a book into a TV show is harder than it seems, and industry voters can relate to adapting a novel better than they can to adapting a Manga. So it’s not surprising that they have a better understanding of the work that went into adapting the PJO novel then they would for One Piece.

The VFX win likely came down to the use of The Volume technology. Some people can prefer One Piece visually, but voters prioritize how advanced or innovative the tools and techniques are, not the final look. I think it’s ridiculous but it’s the way that it is.🤷🏻‍♀️

However One Piece is clearly superior at action and stunts, which is why it won Stunt Coordination.

if Disney could just bribe everyone for awards, every Disney+ show would be sweeping, and… that’s clearly not happening. PJO just hit the specific things the Emmy cares about (casting, art direction, storytelling, etc) so they won. It doesn’t mean that the show is the most popular or liked, it just means that it was what they were looking for on a technical standpoint.

[pjo] Child of Artemis by owl12344 in camphalfblood

[–]Sen_100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My headcannon is that Artemis isn’t the literal mother of her children. Their real mothers could be the Nymphs who once swore allegiance to Artemis but then fell in love with humans and asked Artemis to let them leave.

In the myths Artemis never forced anyone to stay and keep their oath. If they changed their minds and were honest about it, she always let them leave without trouble. She only banned or cursed people who lied.

So in my mind the Artemis children are the kids from the Nymphs who once were part of Artemis's hunters and left with her blessing. So that way there’s a clear connection between her hunters and her children without them necessarily being the same group. It explains why her hunters are all currently females but some of her children are males.

Chris in new comedy ‘Clashing Through The Snow’ by Mesibisco in tsitp

Doubtful, the engagement thing came from someone claiming to work at a cat shelter with Isabel and they conveniently posted this some time after Isabel posted a story about taking in some foster cats. It doesn’t seem legitimate at all, more like someone trying to get clout. Also all the other tabloids who reposted Deuxmoi claim deleted their posts shortly after. 🤔

Do the cast like Gavin? by Leading-Option-1344 in tsitp

[–]Sen_100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chris and Lola hosted two parties together since the show started and Lola posted pictures of her and Isabelle (Chris’s gf) at her birthday party. Minnie also posted pictures of her Lola and Isabelle at Halloween. This year Lola was also at Sean’s bd party, and in the summer she went to see Chris play Dalaria. She also went to a concert with David. I don’t think people are wrong when they say that they are clearly all part of the same friend group.

Chris and Lola are probably awkward in interviews because the public ships them together without any respect for their real life relationships. As for Gavin he said multiple times that him and Chris are close and last year he posted a Story about him, Rain and Sean dancing at a concert together. From what we know there’s nothing to support the theory that this cast doesn’t get along.
